Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio
I used a gram to ounce convertor online to figure out how much oil per 3/4 gallon of gas for 32:1. I then put that amount of oil in them small travel mouthwash containers. I make a mark on the small containers for easy refilling then carry 2 or 3 under the seat. When i get low on gas i just pour in...

Re: Is this plug too lean??
Looks more grey then brown, 1989 elite no air box, drilled out the stock main jet, think I need to go a size bigger yet.... agreed?? I don't think you're too far off. If it was me, I'd leave it where it is and drive it. BTW, why are you drilling out your main jet? Isn't it a lot cheaper to buy jets...

Re: Looking for CHEAP simple mods for 86 Spree?
I just picked up a Spree off CL $400. The old man just dropped $300 into new tires, wiring, brakes and carb cleaning. Now my only issue is it tops out at 32MPH, and I want it go get closer to 40MPH. Please if you know any cheap easy mods let me know. I was thinking intake(what and where) then maybe...

Re: Electric starter on Dio Big Bore is too feeble
What's wrong with Kick-starting? Ewww! Kick-starting is so "1950s". I paid $500 for this thing and I want all the modern features. Anyway, I took the starter to the auto electric shop and they cleaned up the armature and replaced the brushes for $25 (they laughed at the size of the thing)...

Re: Dio (Elite?) Oil pump installation help needed
I put my hardware store nut on the belt sander, then it slipped right in. If it has its own part number on the microfiche, it can be ordered on its own. It has it's own P/N, but it's "Not Available". However, I did sort of like you suggested and bought a 4mm spring-stel U-nut from the aut...

Electric starter on Dio Big Bore is too feeble
I've installed an 80cc BBK on my Dio and it's got bags of power now. Initially it topped out at 58km/hr so I upgraded the stock belt with a new Malossi Kevlar belt which is about 2mm wider. Now the Dio blasts up to 80km/hr (terrifying)! But the heavy Kevlar belt is too much for the Dio starter. It k...

Re: Dio (Elite?) Oil pump installation help needed
Heres a pic of the bolt and washer you need (#27 and #16). Bolt and nut do install like your picture shows and it goes through the oil pump cable bracket too. Bolt is a 6mm x 32mm long and nut is a 6mm. I've examined these diagrams at the Honda dealer & online, but can't figure out the odd-ball...

Dio (Elite?) Oil pump installation help needed
Upon replacing the starter in my '96 Dio SR50M (Elite in USA?) I notice that the oil pump bolt is missing. I can't find a good detailed photo or drawing of how this bolt re-assembles to hold the oil pump in place. It looks like a proprietary Honda bolt, plus a brass bushing, with an odd-shaped nut. ...

Re: 2001 elite exhaust??
I prefer this one in 28mm: http://www.jiangwayne.com/scooter/p_i.php?i=60 Yours will not be as loud though. I think this one is 32mm, not 28mm, at the exhaust outlet. The 50mm cylinder (80cc) has a 28mm outlet, so the other exhaust in the previous post is a better match. I'm using the other one wit...

Not only have I been doing 2 strokes as long as you but anyone using Wikipedia to prove their point is playing with a bogus deck. You seem to be afflicted with the same ailment as the other gentleman. It's called "going off on a tangent." I wasn't using WP to prove a point, I was simply t...

Re: oil pumps
all my bikes have oil pumps removed and i run premix That sounds totally retarded to me, but what do I know. The oil pump supplies oil during closed throttle operations. It's a brilliant 2-stroke idea so your engine doesn't seize during part-throttle descents. So why would anybody remove the engine...

Re: fuel ratio
read up on how a two stroke motor really works ever hear of the Yamaha banshee which happens to have been the fastest production quad out years ago and its premix.... Honda put oil pumps on to make it so anyone can ride with out knowing how to mix the gas... if it did hurt the motor bear would have...

I don't get it. Why are you using premix if your Elite has an oil pump? It's not a chainsaw.veedubh20 wrote:castor 927, recommed 25:1 to 32:1

Re: New to forum, mods for a dio
Here is the problem in short: This dio will go fine flat out, but does not accelerate well but rather splutters it way to power Out of all the discussion above, I didn't get if you changed the bystarter. :imo: Bystarter Hondas won't run with a duff bystarter. It's not a choke, it's a fuel enricher,...
