Re: what year did honda sprees have kick starts?
elite 50,
The spree was electric start only up until 86.
84 and 85 were e start only on sprees,
The aero is the scoot that was e start only in 85.

Re: Morals buy and sell (what's your opinion?)
Yup, dAywot was the truck fire.
I usually have good experiences with him though,
But I ordered jets, and a month and a few days later I got them. Haha.
Usually he gets stuff out fast...

Re: My 2001 elite 50 build-up
So 62mph with at least a couple mph to go.
Had a soft seize this morning, fattened up my main to 118 with stock carb and screwed my a/f screw in almost a turn(making it load up a little at idle, but safer)
Any inputs/advice on my tuning setup?

Re: My 2001 elite 50 build-up
Gears intalled, While I had clutch apart, i used fine grit sand paper and lighgtly sanded the clutch friction materials to get the glaze off, really helped so far, more solid grab, even with 8.4:1s. Less rain tommrrow, so on my way to work all have my gps on inside my backpack. Already reset the max...

If the rear pulley seperated and variator didn't come together at the same instant, the belt would have a ton of slack and slap or break on the case.

Re: Help find a quieter exhaust
The x-tra in the picture is mine!!
And I love the pipe, not too loud and a nice tone.
Also are you running the stock airbox? That is key for a quiet scooter.
I took my airbox off and went with a uni and its easily twice as loud at wot.

Re: Chinging sound at full throttle
I'm going to go with starter, or if your rollers are really flat spotted, they can rattle I have heard. The restricter plate they are talking about is the brass colored plate that screws to the back of the variator, thet could be a reason for the sub par speeds. As long as its the right belt, and it...

Re: My 2001 elite 50 build-up
Installing 8.4:1s tommrrow along with a 2k centespring, ill keep it updated, hope the rain will let off enough for a wot run and gps to determine new top speed.
Crossing my fingers for 60+, would like to cruise up slight incline with needle a little past the"e" on the fuel guage.

Re: Chinging sound at full throttle
Unless you weigh 500 pounds that setup/gearing should yeild at least 60, can you prop it up on a stand and make it go wot and look around for where the noise comes from?

Re: Front Rack for Spree..by ME!!
That is a great build job on that rack, I'm. Interested in what you could make for an elite sa50, I'm sure at least a few of us would be interested in buying those racks if you plan to produce them for a couple different hondas.

Factstraightener, although I do not knock you on wanting to discuss past races, this thread is about tru72s bike build.
I would like to see more about his drag bike and less witty banter.
This is a build thread after all.

Re: My 2001 elite 50 build-up
Annother question...
What clutches are guys using to maintain grab after the first five minutes of riding? I can wheelie like a madman for the first few minutes, but when the clutch warms up my takeoff bite is dulled. What is a good clutch that keeps clutch grab more consistent when warmed up?
