Aeros are faster off line and top speed because they are all variated. Even the earliest ones.

Sounds like its running on the extra fuel the bystarter gives it at cold start.
Your jets are probaly a little gummy. Remove and clean carb just to make sure.

On all my honda scoots if there is oil in the tank it is never on.
I have never actually seen this light illuminated.

Just to replace the gear oil and do big bore, there is no need to split the case. You will just need a transmission gasket because it will most likely be messed up when you take it off. Really diggin your build, what malossi cylinder are you using and is this ported? I tried to find it but this is 13 pages long.

I had to bend the metal shroud only a quarter inch and I have a 3.50 on the rear of my aero, no issues.
