Re: NQ50 vs. NQ50D What's the Difference?

I think the NQ50D was the white Spree with the mint green color accents. Nothing mechanically different, just a cosmetic treatment.

Awesome! Those are exactly what I'm looking for!

And Jeebus, that brush is DONE. Mine aren't that worn, but they aren't pretty either. :surprise:

Re: What is this ?

. Actually you can buy brand new panels for that bike from a guy in San Francisco. $220 or so for a complete set in several colors. Check SF craigslist. Those 87's are nice bikes- I have one -Nathan He goes by halfpricetrade on eBay. Last I checked, he was out. Maybe he's got a line on panels, as th...

Re: What is this ?

It's an '87 Elite 150. The body panels are even harder to score than the '87 Elite 50s. That's a parts bike at best. The front fork is '87 only, but the motor will bolt directly into '85-'87 Elite 150s and '84 Elite 125s. The motor is a GY6LC and can push that bike over 62mph, so it may be worth hav...

Re: On the Art of Posting

Funny thing is, reading through those postings, I had an idea for another definition: speilchecker ( Shp eel-czecher) n. 1. An application designed to analyse a lengthy or extravagant post and automatically correct for comprehension, punctuation and grammar. The guy who writes that one should be giv...

Re: Gyro Starter

crap i thought this thread was about making sandwiches and ingredients used. i was going to suggest some type of vessel-(bread) and maybe a few dill pickle slices(long way) and maybe a slice or two of probaloney cheese... is it a "geerow" or a "ji-roe" ? :naughty: I think it's p...

Re: Gyro Starter

Congrats on the TG50 and very useful info in here. Thanks Brad! I kinda feel like I'm cheating on the Spree by back-burnering it, but I don't feel too guilty as everything but the chassis plastics, wiring loom, frame and rims seems to be broken. I preordered for Taz's next BBK, so it'll be a while ...

Re: Gyro Starter

Is there any way to eyeball the proper orientation of the starter motor can during assembly? The starter came fully disassembled in a gourmet cookie carton. I've figured most of it out, but I still have some mystery bits. Trying to leave it be until I finish rebuilding the '78 JC Penny Pinto I have ...

Gyro Starter

So I've picked up my TG50 Gyro and the starter is boned. The brushes are chipped and severely worn down. Also, a phenolic pad that the brushes glide on is MIA. Wondering if the Spree starter is similar enough to cannibalize for parts. The motor housing looks very similar, but I'm not sure on the mou...

Re: Buying a Road Fox. What should I look for?

Thanks, Mouse! Paid for it tonight, and just in the nick of time. A local collector learned of the bike through the local Honda dealer and tracked down the owners. He offered $800 cash immediately. Fortunately, the owner was a stand-up guy and honored our deal. I just hope the previous owner doesn't...

Re: Favorite non-Spree scooter ?

I'm highly partial to the '62-'65 Vespa VBB2 bikes. Badged as "Vespa 150", they were the quintessential '60s Vespa. They're neither quick or as unique as other Vespas of the era. Still, I love the lines and the handy glovebox in the left rear cowl.

Re: Buying a Road Fox. What should I look for?

az_slynch i would look for the same issuse as any other scooter, plus the fact that i might peek at the under cariage with attention to the moving parts of the axle that makes up the rear end. but for 250-260 dont thni your going to get hurt to bad. good find if you ask me. i want one now. The under...
