Buying a Road Fox. What should I look for?

I recently have been fortunate to ferret out the whereabouts of an '86 TG50. Bike looks decent and appears to be complete. 771 original miles. For issues, it has a bad starter motor. Also noticed a small fuel/oil puddle by the passenger-side rear tire, which I'm guessing is the neighborhood of the c...

Re: Model Identification

So, what's wrong with an '86 Spree? I'd rock it. It looks better than my '85, right?

Re: Spree wheel sizes...

Look at the picture again, where the rear wheel bolts to the final drive. There is some sort of aluminum assembly in between the wheel and the final drive casing. Look at any of the stock Sprees and Elites on the site; they don't have that part. I assume it's there to move the wheel center so the wh...

Re: Spree wheel sizes...

Seen that pic, hella modded Eve Smile. For the front end, keep an eye on the linked discussion. They're talking triple trees (which you need for a big wheel): http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=12300 The handlebars are mounted on a BMX-style stem. Heard of this part before, but...

Re: cheap ebay battery

I put mine into my Spree after pulling it out of my Elite 80. Dropped a 5A battery in the Elite so it would crank over when cold.

Re: newbie question about Oil

Has anyone used G-Oil for their 2-stroke engines? I read that its biodegradable, which i think is pretty cool. http://planetgreen.discovery.com/tech-transport/green-motor-oil.html http://news.cnet.com/8301-11128_3-10162482-54.html Interesting. Might be worth looking into. Wonder if the blend is sui...

Re: Someone, please buy this

Got mine today. It's little and resembles a gashapon toy. Build quality is decent, but not sure it's worth the price. Had to trim some flashing off the tires so it could roll. I'll post pics later. The model series lists an '89 Elite as well, might be worth looking into. the gyro must not be as popu...

Re: Spree Porting and Tools

I wish I had a BBK; missd out on Tazland's 44mm kits. Guess I'm gonna invest in gears for the '85 frankenblock and wait for his 47mm kits. For now, it's the original bore with one of Tazland's 41mm piston/ring sets and one of his gasket sets, an '87 shortblock from Brad^3, the alternator/fan/covers ...

Spree Porting and Tools

So after several weeks of too many hours at work and knocking down several other projects in the garage, I'm back to the Spree. Since the budget is nonexistent for the next week and a half, I'm going to try and build an engine out of what I have. One of the things I was hoping to do was to port-matc...

Another satisfied customer on the mirrors. They look good and fit my '85 Spree perfectly. Thanks, Taz!

Re: What is this ?

Engine is an AF04E. They are variated, with 13g(!!!) weights. You can run 3.00-10 tires with no rubbing (that I'm aware of, mine didn't have a rear fender). With a 2800-mile old-ass belt, a mini cone filter, re-jet and said big tars, I could eventually hit 32mph. I read that in stock form, they coul...

I nabbed one. Wish they had a Spree too.

It can hang out with my mini Vespa collection.

Well, this is your unicorn, man. "Crime Spree" would totally fit this bike. :thumbwink:
