Re: Any need for larger caburetor?
Some day I may set up a pressure test system by plugging the exhaust port and manifold, but using the carb cleaner or propane torch seems so much more practical. Just mocked up my wild lion exhaust today. Definitely not a perfect fit. Fiddled around for some time. Ended up grinding of some weld and ...

Re: Modifying Exhaust Port
I know that you want the exhaust port smooth as possible. What is the proceedure for smoothing? Some kind of polishing compound or wax?

Re: I thought maybe you guys would like to see my new 2 whee
I agree with keeping the cafe screen on. Looked at the first pic and thought sweet bike. Then I saw the short pipe! That space gain above the rear tire makes it look a lot cleaner.

Matching boost port on Malossi bbk? for af05
Read a thread recently talking about malossi kits for sa50's and it said that the boost ports are larger than the same port on crank case, but that polini kits can be put on directly. Matching these ports was considered necessary. Is this true for a malossi port for af05? I'm taking my bbk off here ...

Re: AF05E Exhaust List - Aero and Elite 87-93 engines
Finally started fitting my wild lion. Good News! The head pipe clears the fan cover. Bad News! The wild lion comes in two pieces and where the chamber pushes into the head pipe the weld is slightly too big for me to push it in far enough to reach the two exhaust mounting holes. Probably be grinding ...

Re: Modifying Exhaust Port
depends on where the exhaust pipe makes power@ a certain rpm. yoiu have to match the intake transfers too.if your not sure what your doing, dont port it. you can screw it up really quick. it only takes 1mm to much to loose power where you need it. Yeah If I'm gonna probably not do any porting this ...

Re: Modifying Exhaust Port
You can do that but only if you ring ends don't limit how wide you can make it. Because if you go to far you have a junk cylinder. Do you mean if the opening of the ring is located were the port will be widened to? What's the limit on how far you can go up? The exhaust port would have to be closed ...

Modifying Exhaust Port
I've heard of the rule that your exhaust port can be widened to 68% of the width of the piston. Here's a site that deals with that topic http://www.scooterinvasion.net/forum/vi ... er+porting
Wondering if anyone has advise as to a proper exhaust port width?
