Re: Seller on Drugs Spree $1495
This guy makes me think of the "Moped Medic" here in Charleston. He spams CL daily with his ads and i suspect that he is one of the ones that flag down any decent scooter for sale at a good price. There are a few other hole in the wall shops that do the same.

Re: Shipping Engines Cheap
Ive shipped a few engines and my idea is to use rubbermaid storage boxes and loads of duct tape. I use the foam out of old boat cushions for padding. Works pretty good. I use UPS for them.

Re: Doing what i never thought i would...
Seeping oil seems to be a common issue with these things. As nice as the 600 is for on the road, its a bit much off road. If you really want to ride a trail, its a major workout to hold this monster up. Plus its a major bear to pick up once it hits the ground. Clean up that 350 and give it a set of ...

Ive got a Yamaha XT600. Great bikes. Ive found that advrider.com has a pretty good following for the thumpers. Also look up the HUBB, there is a forum that is pretty much devoted to yamaha dual sports there also. Heres mine http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a150/Bandit240/Yamaha%20XT600/IMG_2141.jpg

CL score for a grand total for $25.
Spotted this on CL yesterday about and emailed the guy right away. He called me a few hours later and i got it. Its a 1981 Honda Passport C70. Its in ok shape except for the plastics. Engine turns over freely and has good compression. It was said to be running a year ago. The best part is, it has a ...

Re: Not a scooter, but i got another Honda.
Lol, yea it will. GPS checked in high gear it will do about 47mph on the road. d*** near impossible to control at that speed though. Its a farm bike though, we live on 48 acres with horse pastures and its going to see life as a fence checker and path clearer.

Not a scooter, but i got another Honda.
Well the teens that live down the road have been telling me about a 3-wheeler for $100 for a few weeks now. Saturday we load up in the Jeep and ride out to where it is to check it out. When i see it, im amazed to find out its the same one i used to own about 2 years ago. I bought it right there for ...

Re: Fuel/gas mileage/milage thread. Fuel efficiency is hip!
Never rode the little scoots enough to check the MPG on them. My '86 Elite 150 gives about 45-50mpg, but its also way up-jetted. The Helix i had would do about 60-65mph if i took it easy. Saw 71 on a long trip once. My '91 XT600 gives about 50mpg. The cherokee sucks compared to them.

Re: Which is faster/better?
Im going to echo everyone else and say get that Jog. I had a 1993 Jog and so far the only Honda 49cc scoot ive had that came close to it was an '85 Aero. Both of them did about 43 on flat ground with a 140# rider. Both would stand right up on the rear wheel in a hurry. The jog would scare the daylig...

Re: No more Spree for me.
Well im not too old to want to play on dirtbikes. Im 25, but i dont want a big bike either. Ive got a XT600, but its just a bit too big for the riding we like to do around here. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a150/Bandit240/Yamaha%20XT600/IMG_2141.jpg I have a tendency to get it into bad spots. h...

Re: No more Spree for me.
Yea, i used to be into dirtbikes big time when i was in my teens. I always had 4-strokers. Never really messed with 2 strokers. After being thrown on my * by the KX80, i swore never to mess with them. Im wanting to find another XR100, that would be perfect for my trials here. Im going to look at a H...

Re: No more Spree for me.
How you see it is how i got it. It was taken to one of the local shops, they took it all apart to do a headgasket and then said they wouldn't fix it. I just ordered the parts from another shop today to get it going. Everything is there, so it won't be too hard to get it done. Should be riding this w...

No more Spree for me.
Traded my Spree for a dirtbike yesterday. The bike is a 1988 Kawasaki KX80. Im going to end up getting hurt on this thing. Got to do a few repairs first though. Might fix it and sell it to buy something a little more tame for woods riding. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a150/Bandit240/Other%20Mot...

Re: Do you wear gear?
Riding the Spree around, most of the time i just wear whatever ive got on and my helmet, maybe. On the Elite 150, well thats always a helmet, boots, jeans and my good old bomber jacket. That jacket has saved my skin a few times. Buddy of mine just wrecked his Aero 125 this week with no helmet or gea...

Ive got '87 Spree plastics on my 84 frame. Swapped over the whole top part of the front for the handlebars though.
