Rear tube keeps popping...
Hey guys, not sure if you can give me any insight on this one, but it's worth a shot... I've had to change my rear tube probably 3-4 times in the past year due to flat tires. In the meantime, I've also changed the actual tires in case they were the culprit. I've felt along the inside of the rim, and...

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
She runs! I put the new weights in and she's back in action. I do however notice that my variator looks very worn, so I'm going to grab a new one off ebay. Also- since changing to a thinner belt, I've noticed I'm not getting the same top speed as previously... is this to be expected? Thanks! WOOHOO!

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
Well- not a whole lot of rain here in LA- but as long as others are doing this I don't think it should be a problem.

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
Well- My clutch cover is already in two pieces- I'm not sure if mine was the first year they started doing that, so I can only put half back on- I just want to make sure that isn't going to kill anything

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
So I went to a local mechanic and had them get the variator off of the driveshaft and holy crap are my roller weights dead. (funeral pics for them are attached) I noticed that there seems to be an area for me to screw in a cover for the pulley/variator, but I was told I didn't need one from the pers...

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
OK! Bought the racing clutch and installed it. It helped, but still having problems getting up to speed. I feel there is something wrong with the variator and possibly the roller weights, but I cannot get the nut behind the kickstart off. I can't seem to figure out how I can stop the gear from turni...

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
Any ideas as to how this could have happened? I have a little over 4000 miles on the scoot. Also, does anyone know where I can get a full clutch assembly?

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
So once I clean the pads and the bell, should it run normally? Is that the problem? Also, if you know anything about the belt width I'd appreciate your insight. Also- Is anyone here from LA - a set of seasoned eyes would do untold wonders... I'm trying but it's difficult with the basic understanding...

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
I also noticed that there is quite a bit of black (sortof powderish / greasy) stuff inside the case. I'm not sure if this stuff just builds up over time or what but could this have contributed to the problem?

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
They do move with a screwdriver, however I wouldn't say it's easy... but that may be do to the spring tension. I don't have a vice on hand so I may need to go to a shop somewhere. I'm attaching some pictures of the bell, there is some material in there that looks like rubber or oil gunk? Finally, I ...

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
Hey there, I'm attaching some pictures of the clutch. I'm unable to get the 39mm nut off... Can you tell me if there is anything obviously wrong here?
Thanks!

Re: No power until about 20mph... then no problems
OK! Got the clutch off, but I'm having issues getting the bolt off the gear connected to the engine... I can't turn it without turning the engine... Do I even need to get back there to check the roller bearings? I'm about to run up to autozone to get a bigger socket wrench for the 39mm socket, and t...
