Re: Honda Dio Engine - Fuel Gets Cut Off While Running 50kph
Hm-m-m-m, gotta agree with G9 again. If you run the petcock that is wide open, eventually your needle valve in the carb will not seal well enough and you'll be leaking gas. Also, you shouldn't need to drill a hole in a perfectly good gas cap - you should be able to clear the intended vent. Best fix ...

+1 - perform a nipple-ectomy, or actually an adda-nipple-tomy. Extra nipples cure most anything.graphite9 wrote:Shoot me $10 and I'll send a af16e manifold with vac port. Or drill and tap yours.

Re: Honda Dio Engine - Fuel Gets Cut Off While Running 50kph
If you're seeing that the fuel flow from the tank to the carb is not keeping up then it seems like you would want to check your in tank filter and make sure your gas cap vent is open.
If you replaced your petcock, you probably checked the fuel strainer in the tank...

Trying to identify this rear end
Hi all, Found a guy who was moving and bought some CT90 pieces from him. He also gave me a rear end for what seems to be a 3 wheeler. He said it was Honda but who knows. Wondering if anyone can tell me what this is: http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx160/Breazeway/rend1_zps5d63f9ca.jpg http://i751...

Re: Gyro - general thread
Hi all, Got a chance this afternoon to possibly trade one of my Aero 80's for an 86 Gyro. Gyro seems to be all there except for the airbox. Plastics are a little rough, but it runs fairly well. Owner told me on the phone that he ordered new rear wheels and tires from Japan (not installed). Ordinaril...

Re: Basket mods?
I gotta say one thing here...don't let the bag/crate/case overpower the Spree...keep it smaller unless you are after excessive cargo space. Basket on the front for extra space is the key to balance, both looks and handling. Also,...learn to ride with grocery bags between your feet... :thumbwink: or...

Re: Spree cuts out at 15mph
You might get lucky and find that the gas cap vent is clogged limiting the fuel flow - easy to check and remedy.

Re: 1986 honda spree 50 will not stay running
I put a compression gauge on the engine, it took 3 kicks to get compression up to 90 pounds. it will only start for a few seconds if fuel is poured in carb. Hm-m-m, wondering how you are pouring fuel into carb - does this mean you have the air filter off or did you mean you are pouring fuel into th...

Re: Briefly out of commission
Everything is back together now with one interesting effect - I noticed that when I got the front fork and wheel replaced that the centerstand allowed the scooter to wobble back and forth. I just thought it must have gotten bent in the accident. However, when I took my first test ride sans plastics,...

Re: spree tire size question
with the tire it looks like its not beading. i use a different rim, tubless, but, I put around 60-65psi of air and i spray a mist of water around where it won't bead. and then bang it around, kick it around, and stuff. beat on it. if it wont take, let air out, rewet the area and try pumping it up a...

Re: 2001 Elite slow oil leak
That pic restored my memory - I've sold my 2001 Elite but I was able to place an o-ring in that middle groove and it stopped the problem - made it a real snug fit.

Re: 2001 Elite slow oil leak
Oddball failure -- My '98 Elite leaked at the oil level sending unit. Sender has a rubber top, which shrunk. That cause oil to leak until the oil level was below the level of the sender. +1 - I've had 3 different scoots do this. Seems like I was able to add an o-ring on one of them and it stopped t...
