Re: 1978 Honda Hobbit, PA50, build up?

I've got a couple of hobbit's, and built one up pretty good. I used a 70cc cylinder kit, bored the carb out to 12mm and rejetted, and put a puch jammi pipe on it welded to the original exhaust elbow. I also used the PA50II ramp plate so it does a nice 40mph. There is lots of info and tutorials on mo...

Re: CL score for a grand total for $25.

They've got that plastic leg shield on sale half price ($39)and also pretty much all the parts you'll need at dratv.com look under Honda C70 parts. Awesome little bikes, I've got a trail90 which is similar. nice smooth 45mph. You scored bigtime!

Re: Can anyone confirm this is a Honda scooter?

That is very similar to my CT-90. Since there is no motor in it, I would haul that home in a heartbeat and slap a Lifan 110cc honda clone in it. But that's just me...

Re: Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

How many volts coming out of the stator?

What is your resistance reading of the pulser coil?

Is your ignition coil a CDI coil and what are the resistance readings?

Double check all grounds! Not uncommon for the coil to get rusty/dirty where it grounds.

Re: Razz CDI vs Spree CDI

I have been doing a lot of research on CDI ignition lately, what I understand is that an engine using a pulse coil to trigger a CDI box (which is basically just a transistor (switch) and capacitor) are pretty much all the same, assuming it is a 2 cycle without a spark advance/retard (most are) or a ...

Re: 1996 SA50p slowing down

My SA50p only ran around 20mph as it was missing the airbox cover when I got it. I made a plate out of sheet metal to cover it for looks but it is basically just sucking air wide open through the filter. I had to drill the main jet to .81mm and now it runs 37mph after I removed the ramp plate and dr...

Re: Why are there so many spree's?

I second the cost vote, when I was a kid, Gar's Honda sold new Spree's for $398 out the door. They were very affordable and faster than most kid's mopeds at the time. I remember when my friends all got them they smoked me on my little PA50...I also remember they marketed the crap out of scooters in ...

Re: Dirt Cheap DIO Style motor- Michigan (not mine)

Sorry Trafficjamz, I think I will keep the Elite. As of now it is a nicely running machine! I cleaned the carb, did a little rewiring and kicked it over 3 times and it started right up. Seems to run pretty good even though it has 5k miles. Thanks to Evilone, I now have most of the missing body piece...

Re: Dirt Cheap DIO Style motor- Michigan (not mine)

That case turned out awesome! I've never tried walnut shells, are they as messy as sand? I just read a tip on a VW site on how to make a soda blaster out of a HF blowgun and plastic tubing. I may try that on some aluminum and see how it works. If you are in kazoo, I may be able to pickup the plastic...

Re: HEY CHECK IT OUT MICHIGAN ONLY!

Too bad you guys aren't in West Michigan, I am looking for a group to ride with...I used to live in Detroit, when I was a kid used to ride my grandpa's solex up and down West Outer Drive. Never had a problem ('70's) but when I moved to Kentwood, I got jumped and had the solex stolen in the parking l...
