Re: Idle Set screw (throttle stop)
No. I did not say that. You need to clearly read my first post. Would not idle. Engine would die. That meaning that when screwed all the way in it would not idle up. Run the screw out and it would not make any difference. Meaning that I had no adjustment either way and that yes the slide would fall ...

Re: Idle Set screw (throttle stop)
Bear. I would be happy to post a picture of the screw that was the problem. Next I drove to a honda shop in Kansas City that had it in stock. That was after checking all those in my area that were all in a system that showed who had them. Closest was St. Louis. Checked a shop not on the system and t...

Bought a new screw and I fixed a problem that none of you helped me with. Again thanks done right. Bear you were no help at all except to arouse your friends o...

Re: Idle Set screw (throttle stop)
First of all I have checked the slide. Not the problem. Next, why mess with a cable if it is not the problem. Next, how do I know if the tip is broken off of my adjustment screw, since I am hoping to see a picture of a known good one? I have not seen what a good one looks like or I would rule it out.

Re: Idle Set screw (throttle stop)
Thanks for the quick reply. I checked since my post and saw it is used on most all models in 1984 and probably more years. Do you now of a good picture so I can tell what mine should look like. The online pictures are not real clear. Looks like it should have a long pointy tip. Like I was saying, I ...

Idle Set screw (throttle stop)
I have a 1984 Gyro. Starts good and runs good, but cannot get it to idle. My throttle stop screw looks like it does not have a long enough tip to it. Almost looks like it is broken off. I get no adjustment by turning it all the way in. Does anyone have a picture of a good throttle stop screw and kno...

Carb/Bystarter question (84 Gyro)
I just replaced thr piston rings on my gyro. Also installed new bystarter, and cleaned carb. After scooter sitting for 5 years it fired right up. It idled a first, but after running for a while it will no longer idle. Next does the bystarter use a o-ring or gasket above or below the c-clip that scre...

Re: why wont my gyro start?
Update on gyro not starting. Compression was 30#. pulled head and cylinder and found rings stuck. Removed piston and have it soaking in pb blaster. Ring set and gaskets ordered. Updates later.

Gyro top speed
I have a 1984 gyro. What speed should it run when properly running? Are there any mods I can do to gain any speed?

Aftermarket By-starter thoughts
What do you all think of aftermarket bystarters? Do they make one to fit a 1984 gyro? Mine does not work. If I want to try and run with it unplugged should it be complete with needle and all parts to make the carb function or will I not get it started without it working?
