I'm putting my ramp plate in. Should I regrease everything or run it dry? I have a couple different grades of hitemp disc brake wheel bearing grease and that's it.
Maybe some lithium grease. Should I run it dry?

Re: Turbo
Nope an EDF will be cheaper than that. A relatively small EDF will be suitable. An EDF with motor will run 80-100.
Most I'm looking at are between 68-80mm and push at least 3lbs of static thrust at ~14volts.

Re: 1978 Honda PA50
This thing isn't going to be a mad scientist experiment like my spree. This is going to be a 100% resto, everything. Every washer/nut/bolt is getting replaced or at least polished in my tumbler. While I have the motor in pieces for inspection I was wonder if the same shave process for the head that'...

I found a roller and a parts scoot. Eventually all the parts are going to be refurbished by me and my lady so she can have a "cute" scooter while I have the gnarly one that moves. Anyway the motor is going to be torn apart. What can be done to it to pick up some speed? Any free/easy machin...

I should be able to get everything done in under $200. I'm waiting on intake, pipe, ramp plate, jets, various other parts before I start the

Bah if I don't win that other pipe I'll just make one myself.
Will the 49cc powerplant melt aluminum exhausts? I don't know much about 2cycle exhaust gas temps

Hopefully I win that stupid pipe on ebay.
If I don't, where can I get a muffler that doesn't restrict my exhaust, doesn't have rust holes and won't kill my wallet?

Re: Custom Pistons for mopeds
The counterweight on a crank needs to offset the weight of the connecting rod and piston. If there is an imbalance say, 1gram, that gram gets multiplied exponentially with speed. Say the piston weighed 1gram more than the counterweight. Every time the piston would be on it's downstroke the imbalance...

The elite was sitting for 10 years or more that would accumulate some oil in the case. I cleared it out and stopped smoking so much now it just has no power because of the lack of se50 airbox. Did you ship that box yet?

Re: Turbo
Yep. Same principle as a rising rate fuel pressure regulator if you know EFI systems. Hands down more pressure equals more flow.

http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/6826/20100913154111.jpg Here's where I mounted the shock. Right behind the voltage regulator! I don't listen very well. Anyway I felt the frame at this point was strong enough to sustain a big 'ol hole drilled in it. I think I used the motor mount bolt and nut fro...

Re: Turbo
suck through carbs are the easiest because any carb will do. The mixture will always been funky however, just a little funky.
Blow through carbs are the best. They're difficult to set up carbs don't like positive pressure, difficult to tune and flat out not going to happen with this application.

Most of the equipment I have in my garage, that's why I'm moving towards doing this. I can make everything myself I just need a propeller. I even have 12v dc brushless motors and gearboxes! I've got lithium batteries, charges, too much crap to not use making a scooter go faster. If I have to rectify...

Re: Turbo
I work on cars, those weird things normal people use and you might have heard of them. A blow through or suck through carb would meter a/f just fine, no need for anything weird. It doesn't cost thousands to turbo a tiny 2stroke motor. Get over yourself I already stated the drama llama ran through th...
