Re: Ruckus Variator on 1985 Aero 50
I have 90/90-10 Pirelli S1's on my 85 front and rear with no clearance issues whatsoever. I too did the Ruck variator mod (mine came from a met) and I gained maybe 1-2 with my stock rollers with flat spots.

85 Aero Kickstart Conversion
I am looking to put the 86-87 kick assembly on my 85. So I need the cover, face drive gear, the half moon looking gear, the pinion gear that mates with the half moon, and the kick arm. Right? Also I am finding it difficult to find all of that for the aero, so is there any interchange between the aero...

Re: BBK won't start
His starter gets power from the battery and turns it over but not fast enough to make it fire. Im guessing it doesn't have enough to overcome the engine's higher compression. Kickstart is broke at the moment as well.

Re: plastic panel filler question
If you mean plain old bondo no it will not work. I have had success with the 2 part epoxy type plastic filler though. It is made for fixing bumpers and you can find it in any autoparts store.

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
I suppose I left that part out. It is an electronic flasher. The packaging only said 12v. Then I remembered that the thermal flasher they had stated a range of 11-15v. So I went back and bought that on the off chance it would work better at lower voltage, but same result. I will however try that idl...

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
Well I have most of the issues sorted. Put in a relay from the autoparts store and voila, blinkers. Not at idle though. I thought maybe my idle was too low, but I don't have a tachometer to check (sounds fine though). I'm guessing it's most likely the battery. It starts fine but i suppose it just mi...

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
I really appreciate the picture. It just confirms what I thought. I have no starter relay. I have that white connector in the picture with the four wires, but it is not connected to anything. I'll try to post pics of what I have to work with tomorrow. I'm hoping I will be able to find a generic one....

If the plug is wet that usually means you are running too rich.

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
Here is a link to the Service manual. It has a wiring diagram and a lot of pictures of where thing belong. Download it and save it for future reference. http://www.hondaspree.net/other/Aero50_SM_85.pdf I already have that saved and have been using it. That is what lead me to believe that I don't ev...

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
I am figuring some things out as I go, but I need some help with someone who has an aero that has normal wiring. Apparently some amateur electrician had my scoot before me because there are so many hack wires. I really need a pic of what the starter relay is supposed to look like. A pic of it instal...

Re: 85 Aero Electrical Help etc.
So thats what its called. Its not really a deal breaker right now. I'll check ebay now and then for a used one. Eventually I'll need it to make it all nice and pretty. I"m just glad it runs and most of the things work. That will be last on the list. 1)Font fairing will be on it's way soon to co...

Re: Electrical Help 85 Aero
Yep that's the aero starter assembly. I took it apart today and found out it is no longer wired, so I wired it back up. Next I will clean it the contacts and if that doesn't do it trace the wires back. I think I solved my horn problem. The problem is...there is no horn unit. I'll have to locate one....

Re: Electrical Help 85 Aero
-2 cycle outboard oil is made for water cooled engines. I wold recommend using Honda GN2 two-stroke oil inyour Aero. Its made for scooters / small 2 stroke motorcycles, and it will not cost you much more than what you are paying for now. Your Aero will benefit and last longer / run better due to le...
