Re: Video - 1981 Honda Tact Full Restoration
Video is good...but does not represent a realistic situation. What we see is a professional shop with technical equipment for cleaning the parts. To PAY for such a shop service is outrageously expensive and would result in the bike we see being restored having a couple thousand dollars racked-up in...

Re: RIP maddog
Yes, his demise has been reported previously by a fella who said he acquired one/some of maddog's scooters. Has been a few years now. I suppose that maddog had some validity to his claims of fast bikes and a colorful past. Truth is, maddog was still present on this board when I joined 14 years ago....

Re: The Daily Chat w/motor & Vintage
Spent 2 years compiling a tad over 3k miles on my 2022 Honda Navi. I never liked the firmness of the seat, and the rear brake is very weak. Those are the only 2 complaints really, but the time had come to make a change. Even before the Navi, what got me excited was the new CT125 Trail, also known a...

Re: 85 Gyro S carburetor issue
Here you go mike. 30$ and free shipping. Can’t beat that price for the whole left side, with axle and brake shoes. If you got an extra brake hub. You’re all set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325300634513?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=di4V0AevSz2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=...

Re: Running rich
Excellent report, very well described result. I'm not surprised by your findings, but wondering what are the differences between the OEM and Chinese slide/needle unit. The typical report is as you said, when Chinese carb installed just as it came, the engine is hard to start, won't idle, impossible...

Mr. tazland001 hasn't posted on the board since August 2019.
You might try contacting him via ebay...his name is chopchop*123.
He has an ad up now for Spree pilot jet if you have trouble finding him by name.

Re: 85 Gyro S carburetor issue
Left rear wheel is the coaster side. What was your issue? I have some spare parts and will help you any way I can. I owe you for those parts that helped me out a couple years ago. 😉 Exact problem not yet diagnosed. Noticed the wheel showing some wobble. Wheel is bolted securely to the brake drum, b...

Re: Running rich
Still still trying to figure out why eng runs so rich. Starting to think fuel bowl level is OK and bystarter may the the issue. Float level is probably okay, agreed. Did a test where a vacuum pump is attached to the bystarter air inlet. Can you show us a pic of where you have attached the vac. pump...

Re: noob needs help deciding to buy
I agree with both previous posters...SKIP the Spree. To find a GOOD candidate scooter for modification, you'll need to be vigilant in watching the market. While the Elite 50 with AF16 engine is the focus here, there are others that can be equally considered. Personally, I like the Aero 50's for the...

Re: Headlights and turn signals suddenly don’t work
I know nothing about your specific model.
My first thought is this: the switching for both items is on the same control handle.
Maybe a fault there.
Second: yes, ground wire faults will cause all sorts of issues. usually very weird.
Good luck friend...motor
