Re: 2005 Kymco zx50 or 1988 Honda Elite?

I got it to about 44mph (non gps) without wide open. PO says 47 mph. Umm, no, I didn't test the Elite. This one was 2 hours away SW of me and the Elite was about and hour+ north of that. Too much traveling.... So, I opted for the larger of the two. I ended up giving him the $1000 he was asking. I fi...

Re: 2005 Kymco zx50 or 1988 Honda Elite?

I decided to go for the ZX50. It turns out it has 2650 KM, not miles.... He also has new plastics for the front, console and the bottom even though they are not needed. He said all he did was put gas and oil in it for two years. It ran nice, but Im thinking it will definitely need plug. Does the exh...

Is this a good deal?

I found this posting on CL.
elite.jpg
elite.jpg (10.2 KiB) Viewed 2376 times
The add says its a 2000 Elite. But the pic shows it's perhaps an Elite S which I wasn't aware was made in 2000.

It has 1600 miles and he's asking $800.

It has scratches from a spill.

Is it worth it?

Is this the model that can be modded easily?

Thanks

No, I believe he said the pipe was the only mod.

How do the two compare performance wise?

It seems the elite is physically much smaller.

2005 Kymco zx50 or 1988 Honda Elite?

Zx50: $1000 2,650 miles zx.jpg 88 Elite: $950 obo 1,300 miles elite.jpg Seller does not know much about the elite as its his girl friends. 1) He says she's gone over 30mph, should that be enough to know it has the DIO engine and a cvt? 2) Opinion: Do you think the color looks like a 'girls bike'?

Re: 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

Well his posting is almost 2 months old. That explains why its still there.

In the meantime, I found an 05 zx50 for $1000 and it has 2,650 miles. So, I am going to see if I can check that one out.

They claim 100mpg and top speed of 47mph. Is that reasonable?

Re: 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

No, I have not. The only scooter I rode since my Spree was a new 09 50cc 2t Like. It felt like my Spree. In the meantime, I found a Kymco ZX50. The seller says it's a 4T but I didn't think they made any 4T's. He's asking $1500 and it has 628 miles. The pics look like the scooter is in mint shape. Is...

Re: 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

The asking price for the 50cc 4t agility is 1399 plus the taxes and delivery etc. Before taxes, the dealer had one blue one left and was going to sell it for $1,424 Am I correct in thinking that I would need to modify the restricted CDI, swap out the Boss for a non restricted one and change the roll...

Re: 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

The agility is a 50cc. And as far as I can tell, Kymco only has the 4t 50cc for 2012, right? As far as the cost, I'd be more comfortable if it were lower too. However, CT is dry when it comes to used scooters here..... My primary purpose of getting a scooter is transportation (35-45mph) and gas mile...

2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T vs 2012 Agility?

Hello. I know this is a Honda site, but since you seem to have alot of background, I thought I would inquire of those on this site to see if they had any knowledge of the two scooters I am looking into. A local dealer just got some 2008 Kymco Super 9 LC 50 2T and is selling them for $999. They seem ...

Is a Honda Elite 80 similar to work on compared with Spree

I just sold my Spree and am looking at a 94 Elite 80. According to seller it needs work. I dont know what kind of work as he bought it as a parts bike. I have some experience with working on my Spree and I was wondering if the 94 Elite 80 would be similar experience. The only thing I figured I could...

How long does the oil last?

On my way in to work (10 mile ride), I noticed the oil light flickered twice. That means to me that its getting low (though the light is not solid yet.) My question is how much more riding might I be able to safely perform as I do not have access to any 2t oil at my office? Thank you for your opinion.
