Re: possibly starting a shop

I don't know as to where you live but around here there isn't much of a scooter market. It will depend on supply and demand in your part of the country. Scooters are sold mostly from the larger motorcycle dealers around here in northern NY. With the cheep Chinese scooters it has to be also hard to t...

Re: This is why Sprees and Elites have no resale value

I new comer can buy a new bike for under 500 dollars or a used 30 year old one for the same price. If you didn't know better which one would you buy? They just don't know that a over 30 year old bike will run better then that new Chinese bike. I bought my two Sprees new in 1986 but for the life of m...

Re: sa50 heated grips ?

I have the grip heaters on my ATV's seeing I run them year around. Grip heaters do help, but on real cold days -0 but I find by wearing mittens instead gloves helps also. Other times like on cool wet days in the warmer seasons when your not wearing gloves you will just love the warm grips. It will w...

Re: Help my landlord sold my scoots!

But yes your bikes we're stolen you should call the cops. Yes they could be stolen? But there is two sides to this story and we don't know the landlords side. First of all I have no idea about Canadian laws. He said he was MIA with problem's?? He is asking on a forum if this is legal. I would think...

Re: Help my landlord sold my scoots!

It sure sounds like the landlord stole your bike, but is there more to this story that isn't told?? My father was a landlord and people would just not pay there rent and walk away and leaving all their belongings behind and disappear. So as a landlord who stores all this unwanted stuff and where? No...

Re: enjoying your Spree

I have to agree no comfort on a Spree. I don't remember what I paid for them new in 1986 but you get what you pay for. I have to admit that a long ride on the Harley can also become uncomfortable for me and I even bought a custom for that bike.

Re: enjoying your Spree

[quote="eclark5483"]No, Spree's are a pain in the rear. I wouldn't drive one as an everyday driver. These bike's are collectibles. I have no idea why you say they are a pain in the rear. They are very simple to work on and give very few problems. No I can't see them as a main form of trans...

Re: enjoying your Spree

As I said Spree's have there own use by design so enjoy them for what they are. I just couldn't picture myself taking a 100+ mile trip on one, but that is just me. By the way I see nothing wrong with modifying your bike if that is what you like to do. You can do a lot of modifications for small mone...

Re: enjoying your Spree

I live in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. A very hilly area with very few flats to speak of. Not quite the ideal terrain for a stock Spree which loves to go 10mph up the slightest incline. Also, as soon as you leave my small neighborhood its a 35mph zone where cars typically travel 40+ regu...

enjoying your Spree

It just seem like I see a lot on making the Honda Spree go faster. I have a pair of them, one for home and one at my camp in the NY mountains. I just enjoy them for what they were designed for; A lite-weight bike that doesn't go very fast just to enjoy rides on the back country roads with many stops...

Re: 1984 50cc Honda Spree "HELP"

I wouldn't buy one of those cheap cylinder kits on eBay also. I've heard they don't last long: either seizing up or exhaust flanges breaking. I put one of the cheap E-Bay cylinder kits in one of my bikes a couple of years ago. I have to say I have had nothing but GOOD luck with it. One thing I did ...

Re: Spree fuel tank

I cut all my old rusty scooter tanks in two, I sandblast all the rust out until it is perfectly clean, I weld the tanks back together and then coat them internally with a product called Kreem. This essentially gives you a new clean white plastic fuel tank inside a steel shell and nobody can tell of...

Spree fuel tank

Need to replace the fuel tank on my Spree. The used tank I got to replace it with has some rusty pin holes in it. Has anybody every patched one of these tanks. If so what did you use and what kind of luck did you have? I was also thinking about adding a fuel filter.

Spree Battery

Find that battery's for the Spree can run around 50 dollars or so. Then on top of that, I find them to be very short lived. Also I find anything made in China can be a little on the junky side. Three seasons back, I came across Spree battery's made in China for 10 dollars each. I just figured I had ...
