I removed mine on my ch80 and I didn't get any extra mph.
But when I adjust the valve, it does help it get close to the top speed it usally get.
I got 40mph now, still working on to get it back to 45 mph.

check starter, starter relay for the clicking sound.
check compression.
you can spary some pre-mix gas and kick it to start, if it start, clear your carb again.

Re: Fixing up my 1987 Honda Spree
Well i replaced the piston, rings, gaskets, and cleaned the carb twice and finally got it running. Once it started up the idle was way to high so I tweaked the carb screws and got it idling smoothly. This changed once I got it on the road and tried to accelerate. IT would almost sputter and pop as ...

But I am getting voltage to the ignition, but nothing works. If I run a wire directly from the battery, the horn sounds and the starter button activates the starter. when your new wire from battery to ignition, the horn work, but if after the fuse, than the horn does NOT work, clean the contact in ...

Re: Aero 50 really hard to start after it sits for 2 days or
Well, I found that I don't have spark. I did some resistance readings per the manual... The coil resistance seems fine. The pulse generator was good, about 160 ohms. The alternator excited coil gave me a reading in the mega ohms. Should I that or do you have any other troubleshooting tips to make s...

Re: CH80 only 30 mph?
Did you try adding the stock air cleaner yet? I do know 125's and 150s run without em but only with about half power and at least a 15mph decrease in speed. Yes, I got the OEM air filter in there. how about the exhaust? do you think if the exhaust will effect the top speed if it clunk up? how to in...

Re: CH80 only 30 mph?
Just use the manual and ADJUST the valves. You don't need to take the head off to do this. Here's the manual: http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=8555 After adjusting the valves, adjust the carb. No need for disassembly. Keep it simple. I really like to keep it simple, but I d...

Re: CH80 only 30 mph?
Got the new Roller in and make sure the belt is Good, now it pick up the speed faster, but it still has the top speed at 33-34mph
Well this time I might need to take off the head again to adjust the valve.
