Re: Help reading Squish Clearance
when doing a compression test you need to hold the throttle wide open. Also the length of the hose on the tester has some to do with lower readings. the longer the hose the less accurate it is. The new rings may need some time to seat properly also. Breaking the engine in slowly by heat cycling and ...

Re: Honda Aero 80 won't start
what is the compression reading? the manual says low side 142psi high side 200 psi. Blocked exhaust is a good suggestion though.

Re: Just my Rollers ? or spark plug too ??
change the rollers out and see how it goes. If it still bogs when warm reclean the carb, maybe using a carb dip. Confirm all passages are clean by spraying carb cleaner in all them and see where it exits.

Re: Just my Rollers ? or spark plug too ??
if the rollers are extremely bad it will affect take off and speed. Don't know whether it will cause bogging or not. Might need to clean carb again, don't know anything about the cr80 carb, what kind of choke does it have? manual or something like the bystarter?

Re: aero 50 will not start unless I hold the throttle wide o
I purchased one of the cheap carbs from ebay for my 94 elite a few years ago. Looked the same but the main jet was not marked for size, the float assy had a metal tang that was just a little thicker than tinfoil and hard to keep adjusted, the needle was a different taper, the air adjusting screw was...

Re: 2001 honda elite 50 sr starting problem, (video)
you really can't check compression with your finger. It takes very little pressure to move your finger off the hole. The only way to be truly sure of enough compression is to use a compression gauge. I hear most auto parts store's have a loaner program were you leave a deposit and borrow the tool. W...

Re: does the elite sb50p and sa50 use the same carb?-
don't know if the carb will interchange or not, but it sounds like the bystarter or bystarter circuit in the carb is malfunctioning. Test the bystarter quote from the wiki " One way to test it before you install it on the bike; hold the yellow lead on the positive terminal and the green lead on...

Re: Water in the crankcase?
remove the spark plug, pour in some oil and fuel mix with the piston at bdc. shake the bike around some. Remove the carb, intake and reed block. put the piston at tdc then lay the bike over to allow the fuel/oil mix (and assorted gunk) to drain out of the open intake area. of course then you need ne...
