Well an 88 speedo cable isnt nearly as long as an 87

Im needing a speedo cable for my 87 elite but it seems hard to obtain one. Doe anyone know if a speedo cable from something else work?

you think the cylinder could be honed? you have other pistons laying around dont you. I would think if hte rings were good a few scuffs on the piston wouldnt keep it from running. I know all the high and mightys say everything has to be new and perfect but i still say you can take fine grit sandpap...
