i too might be getting an aero 80 soon myself. i plan to keep it put together as an Aero80 but would be interested in performance mods for the motor, variator exhaust etc.... this is all very contingent. best bang for your buck
as far as cheap new scooters go,
id look into a Yamaha Vino. performance parts are EVERYWHERE and cheap and the bike itself is only about 1600-1800 bux. probably cheaper this time of year...

yeah i really like the new vespa ET2. it looks like a nice bike, but its priced TWICE that of the Yamaha Vino, and id be willing to bet that parts are cheaper and more available for the vino. plus, 70cc kits, pipes etc are available in abundance for the Yammy. id kinda like to get a new-ish scoot so...

i too have wondered if this was a possible mod. i found a spree with 6600 miles on it i can pick up for 150 bones. it runs good, but i wonder how much longer the 50cc will last.
