My 1977 Express Project :)
So, I picked this up for Dirt cheep ($25.00) and th PO knew next to nothing about it. It was his Father's scooter on the farm. Last registered in 1979
Got it home and, of course, it wouldn't start... but it did turn over, so that was a good sign

Re: Need Help 86 Spree
There are a lot of threads on here about what you need to do. Seems like everyone's relative had one of these in the garage/barn/shed for the last 10-15 years. Follow the link Bear gave... then search the boards for the more specific things like... Clean and oil the Air Filter... clean/replace fuel ...

Re: Washington and Oregon Riders
I'm way down in Salem, Oregon... you guys ever get this far down for a ride? My Spree is my only transpo till I get my 77' Express painted and registered/tags... I've driven up to Portland on my spree - the back way  - and it's a nice - LOOOONG- ride... but any farther would be too far for me...

CDI question
Is the CDI from an 86' Spree the same as the one on an 87 Elite? In otherwords, are they interchangable?

Re: waving to other riders?
In Oregon, "bikers" usually wave... but not always... to scooter riders.
I wave to everyone. If I dont get a return wave I just figure they are * and not worth caring about.

Re: 86' spree: Low end power
Trustworthy friends?? Where do I find one of those? I'm at about 175 and its not doing well untill I hit about 12mph. My daughter - at 110 - rode it and it was still very slow on take off. And uphill... fegedaboudit. Unfortunately, I live in a hilly area  I'll have to check my airbox/int...

Re: 86' spree: Low end power
Just lost 20 lbs... but doubt I'll be able to get down to 46 lbs any time soon.
I have it tuned pretty good. Just changed belt and did a full carb clean...helped mid and high, but low is same.
No mods that will help - other than Dio swap?
