Re: 89 Elite R - my first build
Hello again, and good to hear from you. You probably already heard this but what does the spark plug color read, on the lean side is dane-jur-us. I can send you the 102 jet or which ever one you don't have. Lean motors run extremely well for a short time, but then, well, just check the plug or purch...

Re: soft seize?
are you using just the stock oil pump to lube the motor? I would seriously be sure that oil pump was working, and if you haven't primed the oil lines all the way to the intake, it's just like you described. Seized up right after starting. You can try it with all premix and just loop the pump back t...

Re: Shock bushing
Thank you for the replies! WoW! I like to help if I can. :D Downsouth, I think I have one of those at the shop. Yes, I order from Babbitts when I absolutly got to have it ASAP. They are the fastest and least expensive I've found so far (6-10 days) and if something's out of stock, they ship that late...

Re: Crank seal depth
Service manual says to set the depth of the seal at 5mm on right (flywheel) crankcase half, 1mm on left crankcase half on the '94-'01 SA50's. Why the different depth settings? Might have to do with the tapered end of the crankshaft? Maybe some others will give better info on this subject being yours...

Re: 2001 sr 50 needs a face lift
Welcome to the forum. I've got a stock elite sr50 w/new stock exhaust, air box is opened up and jet is #78 w/ after market variator. Runs very well, good compression, so I installed 9.8 to 1 secondary gears and added 1.5k grabbers/1.5k torque spring which really helped the take off. This scooter hit...

Re: soft seize?
Get a tusk crank puller its a good tool to have. Saves you a whole lot of headache. Must have tool, no question. I would never attempt to short cut this method. Easy as pie! http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n500/dynamohum/72cc%20build/Photo337-1.jpg Protecting the connecting rod from damage: htt...

Mike, like the project you're working on. I used this rig for the choke on an sa50 motor because I couldn't access the top of the carb. and it worked flawlessly. Good luck with it.

With a helicopter, you can get down really close for a good look and hover a little if you want.
Thanks Mike.

Hearing good news makes my day too! Happy for you, I know you were upset. I found one of my scooters down the alley one morning, do not like that feeling. I too was lucky. Lesson learned.

Re: Af16 gear cover question
Yeah i got the bigger end axle. Is it normal for the clutch shaft to be able to slide right out Also the primary gear is alot bigger than the older cover style My experience is the primary shaft should not slide out without at least some light tapping with a mallet. Should be same primary gear if i...

Re: mhr vs Corsa
Whats your guys thoughts on the two bores ups and downs? Hey 94, that would mean that one would have actually owned and used each of these at one time or another and then would have an opinion to give. I'm also anxious to hear from such a source. There should be at least two or three who would give...
