Re: Advise on building for acceleration

10:1 gears are limited still. I use 9:1(16*42)with stock bore for about 47 mph I’m guessing. Your 72cc should push way past 50. It could be the ncy contra spring has not broke-in yet plus your 10:1 gears. Perhaps you’re running rich also?

Re: Scooterswapshop parts and support

I think I found one. 😉 I was hoping 15-20 more people here would have jumped up and said “yea! we want them too!!” You brought back the malossi cranks, the arrow pipes and tons of parts for all kinds of other scooters as well. Plus all your one-off custom parts and making available super hard-to-fin...

Re: Elite-E, Won't Start

Yes it's one thing on the list when getting a new-to-you scooter that's not running. Well, don't run it without an exhaust! It can cause serious damage to your piston and cylinder! You could carefully try pouring small amount drain-o to get it loosened up then use coat hanger and wear protective eye...

Re: Elite-E, Won't Start

Ok then I assume you scraped those intake surfaces absolutely clean and applied sealer and all new intake gaskets?
If there’s any air leaking into the motor then it’s not going to start.

Re: Elite-E, Won't Start

Updates! I pulled the flywheel, all looks well back there. Cleaned it up, and put if back together. After all of this, we I kicked it hard, and it tried to start! More blurbing, then nothing. This was with the throttle significantly opened. Couldn’t get it to do it again. No starter fluid improveme...

So i fixed the throttle slide it was 180. Now it doesnt idle high but it still wont turn on unless i put my hand over the carb. Once it starts i can take off my hand and it will ride until i shut it off
Do you mean you can ride it? or do you mean it will just run while on the stand?

Re: 1986 Spree almost fixed need help

Then there’s something to do with the workings of the carburetor. Is it the original oem or an eBay carb?

Re: 1986 Spree almost fixed need help

Yea you should have the air box all connected and an oiled, oem quality air filter in place for the scooter to start on it’s own no hand-holding

Re: 1986 Spree almost fixed need help

Throttle slide may be stuck in open position.
You may have installed it in the carburetor out of alignment with the nub.
