Re: Keli Variator?

So in review, I can use a Dio Variator on an AF05 as long as I use the stock ramp plate (or other compatible plate), correct? Yes just use the af05 boss. You may try some variator shims if it needs adjusting https://www.dynoscooter.com/collections/honda-dio-elite-50/products/variator-control-shim-k...

Re: my spree has been running great until reently

I would suggest not changing any parts unless they were confirmed bad. I’ve had a few cdi units go bad but never a coil. Your issue could be as simple as a spark plug cap gone bad or if that’s not the problem then try a known working cdi to swap as a test. Put your old coil back in unless you know i...

Re: Af16 Assistance / Build

You could use an air filter like this one which, if mounted up correctly, could serve as a useful support bracket....

Two words for you Nate.....Temperature gauge

If you have air leaks it will let you know quick. If you run without a gauge, it may be too late.

Re: Af16 Assistance / Build

A Polini carb usually requires less jetting versus the oko’s for some reason 🤷🏻‍♂️

Re: Af16 Assistance / Build

I ordered a second main jet kit as I was told that 118 wont be enough for this pipe. I had a Fabrizi pipe like that for a while and I remember it was tricky to install. Actually it was frustrating and I had to make the side bolt just the right length for the fit. It seemed to like a 124 mj in an ok...

Re: Carburetor

Fuel evaporates from carb bowl or you have a leaky bowl or bowl drain screw. There’s a vent near the top of carb that should have a hose on it which would prevent quick evaporation. Be sure you have the air box in use and not leaking air unnecessarily into the carb.

Thanks MM. To add to that: Don't reply to spammers, and definitely don't quote them. Just click the exclamation mark and we'll be along to clean it up.
As mentioned by administrator “Don’t reply to spammers”. It just takes more work to remove each post. 😊 Thank you!

Re: Just signed up - SA50 Engine Question

I just picked up a couple of scooters. 1984 Spree and 1988 Elite (SA50.) Does anyone know if the SA50 frame (specifically the engine mount tabs) are the same from 1988 - 2001? I know Honda switched from the variated AF05E to the AF16 in 1994. Reason I ask is I have a variated AF05E I'd like to put ...

Re: Do not swap Spree engines

On this forum every time someone starts talking about making a Spree run better someone says swap the engine. Many people don't want to swap the engine. Please stop that. Answer the question asked or don't but stop with the engine swap nonsense. It's as bad as the Chevy people saying just put in a ...

Re: Hard starting. Crank seal leak

Thanks in advance for the help. 86 spree. 90 psi compression. Hard to start but when it does it will run fine for a minute or so. The starts to rev and stalls. Cleaned carb thoroughly. Air box in place. Have noticed an oily leak on the left case. Looks like crank seal. Would that cause the issues? ...
