from what i understand the sb50 was an earlier model elite and the sa50 was released in '88. the sa50 is supposed to have a bigger motor, susp, etc. but yes there are mods for the SB. i personallly have a 2000 sa50 that im working on but give it a try with what you got

still not sure whether it's a restricted or non restricted model. yeah these guys are right. i know this from personal experience. there should be a slanted notch on the throttle body arould the needle jet (the whole assembly on a spring that screws into the top of the carb) depending on where that key is inside the carburetor, it has to line up. i have an elite 5...

offset variator weights?
i heard about offsetting the rollers in the variator for more low end power and wheelies. it already sounds like a bad idea, but how would you do it?
