Re: Excessive oil in top end?

My Spree had the same issue, but mine was so full of oil from sitting that you could kick it once and it would hydro lock. It had been sitting with fluids in it for about 5 years. All I did was pull the spark plug out, stuffed a rag over the spark plug hole, then gently pushed down on the Kickstarte...

Re: New Project - 86 Spree Special (Shast White/Lollipop Gre

IMG_8068l.jpg I bought a storage locker at auction, and had this gem in it. I am just now learning what I might have, thanks to message boards like this. It's been spray painted black, but the color wearing through appears to be a lollipop green color combo. How much value does this scooter have if...

The Spricer. I like it. You just need to lower it to the point where it will barely scrape with you on it and it'll be good haha! Nice job!

Thanks a lot Wheelman!

PS... Where are you from? Your posts are written with such elegance that I picture you sitting on a scoot wearing a monocle and holding a cup of tea... lol

Spree Rebuild kit

I just bought my uncle's 87 Spree which has been sitting for over 5 years. The motor was hydro locked with oil due to a leaky oil pump. It runs okay, but I know how he used to ride it and I'd just like to go through the engine and freshen it all up. I plan on buying a stage 3 kit from Taz, but I'd l...

Re: How-To: 87 Spree Glovebox Installation on Earlier Years

Here is how mine came out. Glove box off a 87 Spree onto my 85 Spree. Filling the holes was a bit tricky. I super glued a couple of old credit cards on each side and then bondo. Came out ok. That looks great! Unfortunately I ended up having to get rid of mine before I could completely finish it. My...

Try 2 zip ties? If you can make em tight it'd be hard to come off.

Snow ride. :)

Okay, so here in Chicago we just got about 2 inches of snow... and I couldn't help myself. I pulled the Spree outside and took it for a quick little run... Mind you I don't have knobbies. It was the only time ever that a Spree feels powerful with someone on it. It was truly fun, only doing abo...

Re: New info on ethanol as a fuel.

I absolutely HATE ethanol. Here in Chicago, or at least at the gas stations near where I live, even the 93 octane contains ethanol. Ever since they started putting it in the gas, my Spree hasn't run near the same. I've lost 5 mph off my top speed, and it's difficult to start. Usually needs a prime t...

Re: Stolen 87 Spree

UPDATE: The bike was recovered. The police got a warrant to search some guy's house, and there were about 12 motorcycles/scooters there, all stolen. So basically this guy was running a chop shop out of his own house. The level of stupidity of some of these crooks is incredible. Thanks for kee...

Stolen 87 Spree

My uncle's 87 Spree got stolen from his shed the other day. The police are involved, but being such a small vehicle, chance are that it's not going to be recovered. It's the same scooter from my signature that I learned to ride on, so that kind of * me off. Here are some details. Red plastics with w...
