Compression question

When I bought my '85 Spree from my buddy, it hadn't run in a long time. I poured some Red-Line 2-stroke oil down the spark plug hole and gave the starter a couple of turns to get the cylinder coated. I did the compression test with the whole intake tract removed (no carb, intake, or reed block) beca...

Re: What is your favorite app?

I just found key ring. It stores all your barcodes for rewards cards so you don't have to keep those things in your wallet or key ring. Awesome app.

As you can see below, I also use tapatalk. Nice app for message forums.

Can we still refer to Canadians as snowbacks? d*** snowbacks coming down here taking all our hockey jobs and eating all our maple syrup.

Re: bystarter disassembly . HALP

Mine felt like that too when I disassembled it, but it ended up coming apart ok. I did have to reassemble it 3 or 4 times before it went back together to where it worked correctly.

Re: Anyone have any experience with this tach?

Actually, I just re-read the instructions. I had it set for 2 sparks per rev. I just changed it to 1 and it seems to be more correct.

Anyone have any experience with this tach?

Was looking to add a tach for performance tuning and this was the tach I ended up buying. http://www.andytach.com/magento/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/r/p/rpm.jpg I did some searching in the archives and it looks like the Spree has 1 ignition pulse per revolut...

Re: Quick ?

Spree's don't have fuel pumps. They're gravity fed from the petcock straight to the carb. They do have oil pumps though. Look in the wikispreedia page for the manual and you'll see where it's located.

Re: Pics from my ride today

Yeah, my dad used to tell me stories about swimming in Lake Erie. Yuck.

I know catfish are pretty common out there and I think blue gill. I've actually never fished there.

Re: Why no aftermarket Spree exhaust?

I'm fully aware that i'll probably spend more time swearing at the thing than actually riding faster than it was stock. :) If it works, cool, if not then it will be a great learning experience.

Re: Why no aftermarket Spree exhaust?

How come no one has made a bolt on exhaust for the Spree yet? Noiseguy made a batch of these back in 2007. http://www.hondaspree.net/other/v2final.JPG Actually, I just ordered an expansion pipe from a 47cc Cag pocket bike ($15) and have a spare Spree muffler to use the head pipe from. So I'm going ...

Nice. Always wanted a Cyclone. Awesome cars. I'm slowly building a '68 Mustang. The last thing I need is a set of heads so I can finish my engine and 5-speed swap.

Pics from my ride today

This is one of the few places I can actually ride to from my house without having to worry about getting run over. It's Bethany Resevoir, about 7 miles from my house.

My grandfather was born on Kauai and my grandmother was born on the big island (Kohala). Most of the family moved to CA, but some of them stayed. The ones left in Hawaii live in Pearl City on Oahu.
