Re: Holy crap :P
I have an acquaintance that has a Sneaky Pete NOS system hooked up to a Go-Ped. It's pretty much un-rideable when you hit the button because it wheelies out from under you.

Re: martynkim
I've bought and sold a lot of stuff on a lot of different forums, and martynkim is one of the best guys I've ever dealt with. Good prices, doesn't make up for the low prices with high shipping and is fast. He get's two thumbs up from me.

Re: Security and your Scooter.
Honestly the best security is a garage and good insurance. Chains and locks can easily be cut.

Re: waving to other riders?
I've been riding a motorcycle for 10+ years now and always wave to other motorcyclists. I've found that scooter riders rarely wave back. I think they don't know about the waving thing.

IT LIVES!!!
Got the Spree fired up today. I can't tell you how excited I am to have brought this poor scoot back from the dead. It was a beautiful site to see the neighborhood fogged out with two stroke smoke. A big thanks to all who helped with advice and parts. Just need a couple more misc parts and a r...

Re: What is meant by "stolen recovery"
Depending on the laws of the state it's in and insurance regs, etc., a theft recovery could mean it gets issued a salvage title. Not every state is the same though, so you might want to check.

Carb mounting threads are toast. Now what?
I just rebuilt the carb and when I went to remount it I noticed both bolts wouldn't snug up. I'm pretty sure the threads are knackered. Now what? I think the carb body is a zinc casting right? Can I drill out the holes and re-tap for a larger size? Or do I just need to bite the bullet and buy anothe...

Re: Is this part necessary?
The isolator. Yes, it keeps heat out of the carb which can cause all kinds of issues. Can you run without it, yes, should you, no. Ahhhh... The actual name for the part. Thanks. :thumbwink: Guess I'll start looking for an o-ring locally. I don't want to spend another week and a half waiting for it ...

Is this part necessary?
This carb spacer was bolted between the intake and carb on my '85 Spree. I don't see this listed in the manual or in the on-line microfiche. I thought I might get the o-ring for it in my carb rebuild kit, but it wasn't in there. Any idea if this thing is required? http://www.wilit.com/web/spacer.jpg

Re: No spark on '85 Spree
FOUND IT! So my buddy, the previous owner, replaced the wiring harness because the original one was really damaged. I decided that it wasn't a component issue and was a wiring issue like swimmingfree suggested. I checked continuity from the pulse generator to the CDI (good). Then I thought to check ...

I've got two, an NGK and an Autolite, neither spark. I've tested them in my Mustang, and they for sure work.Bear45-70 wrote:Change the spark plug?

Re: No spark on '85 Spree
Replaced the CDI and I still don't have any spark. I double checked all my previous measurements and they're all still the same. Checked the new CDI against Bear's test sheet and it checks good. I checked to verify the run/stop switch was working and it checked out good per the manual. I'm re...
