How much oil should an oil pump, pump, if an oil pump could pump oil?
Picked up a non running '87 Spree and I'm trying to get it back on the road. It hadn't run in a LOOOONNG time and the kid I bought it from couldn't get it running and gave up on it. Long story short, I decided to throw a new top end on it. Bought a piston and cylinder off of Amazon and figured, all ...

If the price is reasonable, I'd be interested in a pipe.

Re: Spree: Looking for new belt.
AX23 is definitely too short as I have one sitting in my garage right now with an AX24 on the bike.

Who here is in the Vancouver, Wa area?
I was just up there the other day and was sitting at a light next to a guy wearing a suit riding a Spree to work. Didn't get a chance to talk to him because we were a couple of lanes apart. Just curious if it was someone here.

Re: Performace Spree exhaust pipe build
Cool, thanks for the tip. What's the length of the head pipe? Is it pretty much the stock length or did you shorten it up any?

Performance Spree exhaust pipe build
BEHOLD!!! Performance pipe v1.0 http://www.wilit.com/web/pipe.jpg I started this project with a spare stock Spree muffler. I cut it open, cleaned it out, drilled a hole in the baffle and welded it back up to see if there was any performance gain. No noticeable difference in pickup or top end, so per...

Decarbonizing a Spree Muffler... Anyone ever looked inside?
I have a spare muffler I picked up off of eBay that I wanted to do some experimenting on. It's kinda rough on the outside, so it's perfect for what I have planned. First step was to decarbonize it. In the Wikispreedia page, it says a clean Spree muffler weighs about 3 pounds. I threw mine on the sca...

Re: Re: Stock Top End Replacement Kit Options
I PM'd Taz the other day, he doesn't sell the 44mm kits anymore. Its only stock 41mm or 48mm kits now.eliteguy50 wrote:The 44mm Spree BBK will give added acceleration and run with the stock carb. The 48mm really should be run with a larger carb IMO.

Awesome! I work at Ygnacio and Oak Grove. It'd be cool to make it out to this ride.

Re: Compression question
What kind of compression number should I be seeing?
Right now it tops out at 26mph. Take off is incredibly slow. I need to give a good push with my feet to get rolling and it takes a good distance to get up to top speed.

But my no reeds test was higher than my test with reeds.Bear45-70 wrote:No reeds makes your compression numbers low because the air in the crankcase is not compressed.
