Re: Battery STILL dying

Ha Ha. Actually my scooter has no kicker (85 model (?)) and is probably the worst looking Spree in the Southwest! Not worth the trouble to carry/push it off, but it does get me from one end of the pits to the other. I figure it is the rectifier ; switch was cheaper.

Re: Battery STILL dying

Hi,

I had the same deal. I fixed the symptom, but not the cause! I put in a toggle switch in the main 'hot lead' from the battery to the rest of the system. Nothing happens if that switch is off - cranking, battery drain, etc. No more dead battery and it is an anti-theft device also.

Good luck,

Gentleman, I bow to the Forces on the 2-CYCLE Dark Side!! Smoke and Mirrors!! I put in a filter and IT RAN DOWN THE STREET AND BACK!!!!! Further than all other trips combined. You guys are awsome. Now if I can just 'go rounds' at the track to make this effort worthwhile! But, that's another problem....

Ok. Got the filter, but something looks missing.

Got the foam thing. Is there supposed to be some kind of screen or holder to keep the foam in place in the air box? I just have the box and lid. Is that it?

Should have asked Honda while there, I guess. Oh well, I'll ask here.

Thanks.

Maybe I can help you for a change. We had another Spree that wouldn't shut off unless we bounced up and down on the seat - SWEAR TO GOD!! Finally that wouldn't work, either and we traced wires. There is a plastic block wire connector with about 6 wires going in and out of it back on the right side u...

A filter it is then.

Not too much of a 2-cycle guy. Is the restriction from the filter a necessary part of the intake process?

Give it gas, it bogs and dies

Hi, Going to get rid of the other Spree I wrote about (got gas, got fire, no start). It had 30psi compression. Had 120psi with a squirt of oil. Broke ring, etc. Will be someone else's problem soon. Anyway, got another one. Made one good scooter out of 2. But, when I ride it, it will bog (always) and...

Thanks for the replies. Flywheel is still pressed on, moves when cranked, and I can't move it (not loose). I cranked it with no plug and it makes the 'puffing' sound like it is going up and down as required. Will try the finger deal and see how much compression is there. The spark is enough to make ...

Got gas, got fire. No start.

Scooter won't start. Has gas. Has spark. Turns over. Is there a timing deal anywhere? It ran and then made a grinding noise (like something stripped - may or may not be important) and stopped running. Flywheel turns when cranked. What's the 'autostart' thing? Any ideas? Timing shack is a long way fr...
