Re: Do I need to bleed my oil pump???

I spent an hour pawing over the workshop manual, (Thanks to this site) and I got the volume of the fuel tank. (5ltrs) Then I added a couple of hundy mls of oil, and topped the tank up. And I've been riding it ever since. I pulled the line off the carb from the oil pump, and it gave the trusty drip d...

Re: Do I need to bleed my oil pump???

Based on where the fuel tank is, it's going to be a P.I.T.A. to remove the tank to drain the fuel so I can replace it with premix. How do I know that the pump is in facy pumping? Is there a how-to for bleeding the pump? I consider myself to be pretty mechanically minded, but these dirty old scooters...

Do I need to bleed my oil pump???

Hey guys. I got given for free a honda dio, that had been in a nasty crash. The front is really bent up. Today I bought a low milage dio that wouldn't go. So I pulled the motor out of the crashed one, and fitted it to the one that wouldn't go. So do I need to bleed my oil pump? If so How do I do it?...

My scooter has become deceased, what would you buy next?

Last Saturday I was enjoying the warm spring sunshine, running a few errands on my honda evePAX. all of a sudden it came to a screaming halt. I've not yet done an autopsy on the old girl. But the engine did seize for a bit. I do have spare crank seals, bearings and gaskets for a honda scoot. But I'm...

Re: King of the road baby!

sadly no. I have two NQ50's, but neither of them are running atm. My current scooter, (Complete with seat ripped to shreads, and no side covers) is an 86 evePAX. (video of it here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q8ZfBC1ndk) No that the pressure on the emergency services (fire ambulance, and police)...

King of the road baby!

I'm writing this post to say that My scooter is KING of the road ATM. Exactly three weeks ago My city was decimated by an earthquake. Many people were hurt, and a couple of hundy were killed. As well as many many heritage buildings have been condemed. (Even my dads house is a write off) On the day o...

Re: Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

I tried the coil off my evePAX (It's resistance wasn't to spec either?) and still no spark. Everything else has the correct resistance, except the alternator. It's 50 ohms under. I tried the other two I have with the meter, and one was dead, and one was in spec. But now I can't get the god damned fl...

Re: Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

Just to bump my old thread, The piece of sh1t is still inoperative. I got a freind to print off section 14 for me. And I've had a few cracks at it. ALL the three coils I have have too high a resistance on the primary circuit. They all show 0.9 ohms, where as the book says 0.3 max. I might try the co...

Re: Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

I did a continuity test on the wire on my pulse generator, and it's not broken. I have two spare units, but the one off this bike has only one wire, whereas the two spares have two wires. I was forced to use a different flywheel, and I'm worried that it could be different to the one that works with ...

Re: Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

Thanks guys! yeah, I earthed it to the frame, not the plastics. And a multi meter is already something I carry in my toolbox. Shame I don't have a printer, as the spree, and my computer aren't at the same locality. Come to think of it, I was a bit un-gentle taking the spark sensor out of the old mot...

Help! rebuilt engine, no spark......

I just rebuilt my nq50 motor. I used to ride it to work everyday untill it got slower and slower and slower. Untill one morning a guy on a push bike burned me off. So I parked it up, and started riding another scoot. I tried to run it some time later, and it wouldn't start. I found the crank seals w...

Re: Will a spree fit in the back of a car?

I got given a free car on saturday. I had to travel 70kms to get it. when I arrived at the guys house, there was a spree in the back seat! (the actual back seats themselves had been removed) Double good score!

Re: **** Official Scooter Video Post! ****

here's me doing a drunken burnout in my pals kitchen last night. I was so drunk that I don't actually remember doing it. And my buddy had to put the key in the ignition at the beggining of the clip, as I was too drunk to find the keyhole.
