This guy ^ is bang on.
It's a drum brake scoot.
It doesnt look bent. That's the odd thing.

Seized front shocks?
So a while ago I got a Honda dio off Facebook marketplace. Bought it off a complete loser. I spent quite a while undoing all the f*cktardery that it had been subjected to. And got it running. It goes pretty well. But the front forks were seized. I pulled the front wheel off, and only one shock seeme...

Re: AF18 compression bump
I'm not too concerned about detonation. More about the piston and the head trying to make love to each other.

Re: AF18 compression bump
A couple of hundred usd defiantly breaks the bank. Pulling the barrel and knocking half a mm off it is only going to cost me a cost of gaskets. I guess I need to see what my piston to head clearance is now, and skim it accordingly. Perhaps a better question would have been, What's the minimum safe p...

AF18 compression bump
A standard improvement for any engine has always been to bump up the compression. I was talking to the guy at a local scooter workshop about it. he swears and declares its a step backwards to shave the head, (Due to reducing the squish pad area) and better to remove material from the barrel instead....

Re: What model engine would a 92(ish) dio have?
Thanks Kyle! I'll tell the guy to grab them for me this weekend. I also need a starter motor too. I swapped the ZX motor back into my Dio tonight. It kicks the s*** out of the motor out of the crashed Dio that I was running in it. Can I get you to go ahead and score me that Performance variator/belt...

Re: What model engine would a 92(ish) dio have?
Hey Ayden, Did you get my reply to your PM? The bike is in Auckland. And the guy can't go see it until the weekend. I'd really like to expedite the process if it will work. Perhaps a better question is, will the fan cowl from a 1992 ish dio, fit my AF-18E engine? It's peak scooting season here atm. ...

What model engine would a 92(ish) dio have?
Anyone know what engine a 92ish dio would have?
I need a fan cowl for my AF-18E engine.
I've tracked down a guy with a 92 dio, with a broken engine. But he's not in my town.
Would it have the same fan shroud, or something else?

Re: need some advice. my engine runs really crap.
Yeah, Kyle rocked over to my place and waved his magic wand over my scoot. (turned out he only lives four blocks away!) I'm super stoked to have met someone who knows their * bout hondas. (Datsuns and mopars are my forte) Turns out I'd made a dumbass newbie mistake. But now it sings so good, I'm pro...

Re: need some advice. my engine runs really crap.
Just the engines. some of the plugs were different, but ALL the wires were the same colour. I did some pretty ugly splicing to make it run. I don't get why it would only idle down slowly when the throttle is released?

Okay, here's the situation. I used to roll on an evePAX that I scored for free. I gave it death for years. Wore out a lot of tyres doing skids at parties. (Including one in the kitchen at one insane thursday night binge drinking session) Then two springs ago, (october 2011) I was out for my first ri...

Re: Do I need to bleed my oil pump???
Yeah I knew about the new rules. They suck tbh. The buttholes at vtnz charge a $100 for the inspection too. So $230 just to be cool and ride a nifty. I almost wish I hadn't sold my other nifty with live rego and rebuilt (But wouldn't fire) motor for $200. Looking more and more like the exepax will b...
