That carburetor is showing signs of needing a good cleaning. Please download the service manual Clean per instruction. so im assuming its the carb. everything starts perfectly find and idles amazing and it will run all the way up until like 3mph, but as soon as i throttle past it, the engine dies.....guessing the carb is not allowing the throttle body to open up all the way and then it just floods out. any ideas on...

ya im going to check the carb tonight when i get home from work. i hope its not something internal. how do i check the compression on the motor? it has 4,000 original miles on it

last night the gf was on her way home from work on the spree and it broke down. i went to pick her up, and checked it out. the spree would start up, but when i would throttle up to get going it would roll about 10 feet and die.....batter was fully charge, full tank of gas and oil.....the gf said tha...

i was using a 17mm socket, that is the one that fit the current bolt on it

ok thats what i though. i dont have an impact wrench, and i dont really have any place to put it on a jackstand, so i guess ill get a long * wrench to get that bolt off. Ill hit up autozone tonight and get some penetrating oil, see if we can get that thing loosened up

ok so.....im a NOOB at this scooter stuff. give me a car and ill do just fine, but how in the world do you take of the rear tire on an 85' spree. I got the front tire off in about 3 minutes, but the rear......what the *. I whaled on that rear bolt and almost started to strip it so i stopped.....dont...

for now we are going to keep the spree stock, the tires rotted out over the weekend, my guess is that theyare the original tires. so ill be taking off the rims and tires this weekend and heading up to everett powersports for some new tires

would like to eventually drop in an 80cc motor into it

The spree is an 85' and we were born in 85' so same age lol
