Re: snow and ice storm

So, that`s where all the snow went! We haven`t had but two decent snows yet this year. I had the Met out for a quick 20 mile ride two weeks ago.
If this is global warming, play on! :woot:

Re: Lets Compare MPG

Box stock `04 Met. Best I`ve ever got was 105, and the worst was 95. She averages around 98-100 MPG at WOT.

Can`t wait to see what the Spree and Elite get this spring.

Re: Tire question

I`ve ran tubes in tubless tires many times. It`s not like I`ll be doing speed runs at Boneville with the scooter, and the Elite rims are good, and I don`t have an extra set of Met rims. As long as size isn`t an issue, I`ll give it a try. Thanks for the reply. If they don`t work out, you can always s...

Tire question

I`ve got a set of 90/90-10 tires off of a Metropolitan. I`ve heard they`re pretty close to a 3.00. Will they fit the rims on a SA50P?

Re: who lives in michigan

Old thread, I know, but I had to chime in.

Clio, just north of Flint, and just south of Birch Run.

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

Gettin` closer. Mets 009.jpg Really happy with the way the floor board/inner front cover turned out. After the sandblaster got the red over spray off, it left a milky gray, nasty looking finish. I scrubbed it down with hot water and dish soap, wiped it dry, and took a propane torch to it. She looks ...

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

I don`t want to sound like a cheap Charlie, but the Corsa is a bit expensive for what I`m trying to achieve. The Contessa is a little more reasonable. The Taiwan bores, after reading the reviews, make me nervous, so I`ve kinda ruled them out. I like the idea of an iron bore, but Wheelman`s review of...

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

This one`s gonna be my uptown cruser, so no real need for speed. I`m savin` my bucks for the `99 Elite build. Still thinkin` on whether to go Malossi or Polini or Nicasil. Plenty of time to hash things out before spring.

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

Got a little farther along today. 002 (2).JPG Had to fab a tab for the seat locking mechanism that was broke off, and bought the arm and spring. Still working on the plastics. Big difference between Spree and Elite plastics. Spree=Tupperware, Elite=egg shells. Hardest thing so far was getting the d*...

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

What shock are you using? The stock one, with a wire brush treatment and a squirt of the silver paint I had left over from the Spree rehab. Carnie, I can remember the days of the 12 hour shifts! Too many of them will make an old man out of ya quick. The money sure is sweet, though. I`ve been out of...

Not really sure what you meant by that, but the two on the right are Spree/Elite belts, and the three on the right are for my Mets.

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

Got a little farther yesterday. 002.JPG The belt cover isn`t going to get the TLC that the Spree`s did due to severe pitting and the fact that it`s about half the thickness of the Spree`s. Blasting, mucho coats of sandable primer, and a bunch of color and clear coats made it passable, but not perfec...

Re: `88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

I have an 89 that I'm parting out for pretty cheap. Name your own price and if it's reasonable, it's yours is my pricing system. You`ve got a PM I sent. Looking for a clutch (I`ve got the outer bell), and I could use the rubber shroud as illustrated in this pic, part #4. Image.gif Let me know if th...

`88 SB50P: Let the rehab begin!

I have a big hole in my heart (head) for abused scooters, and man, this one was beat hard. Dent in the front rim, more cracks in the plastics than in a large nudist colony, rusted bolts, stripped out intake, etc. Funny though, even with the carb held on by only one semi-stripped bolt, the little bug...
