Re: Need new battery
Ebay, 1st web sales sells amg batteries for less than 25 clams shipped. They work just fine. There are only a few battery manufacturers that fabricate batteries that fit in bikes, ski's and scooters. Save some money if you can wait a few days.

Re: 1988 Elite E - Sluggish Performance
Remove your muffler and take a look at the exhaust port from the muffler side. If it os packed with carbon you found the problem. Do not use anything sharp to clear the carbon. I use a plastic shrimp devainer.........lol

Seafoam in the fuel. Drain the carb with the drain provided on the carb and plug off the vent. 2 minutes and you are done.

Re: brake in question
The brake hone has a tendency to break the stones when you go past the ports. You can damage the cylinder when that happens. A ball hone is the ticket. 32 to 1 is 4oz of oil to one gallon of fuel. 62 to one in 2oz to a gallon of fuel.

I use left over peanut oil from the fryer. Smells like french fries when the engine is running.

Main jet in the carb Mike. Emulsion tube may add to the fun.
