Every time I'm going somewhere in town I find back roads through urban neighborhoods so I'm not caught on a 45mph street going 35mph. But hey, it was free

Could proably have wired the cables together for a kick start but I used the boat battery. I didn't wire the cables together either. I just took the battery and battery box out (needed to be cleaned) and kick it to start it. I'm too cheap to actually go buy a battery for a $1 scooter and this works...

What year is your spree?

I have a 1986 that I've been running without a battery for awhile (I know, bad for it) since the old one sat for seven years, and it kicks without a problem, with power to the lights.

BTW, you won't want to run it without the pipe, bad things can happen

Worked great and i got through the first few baffles (nasty growl now and picked up 3 mph), but with about 6 inches of the nail left outside it started...

put a nail through the back baffles the other day on my spree and now it's got a nice mean growl

oh, and now i got it up to 35 down hill

1986 Spree, nothing done to it except to clean it up but I'm planning on drilling out the baffles and doing a repaint soon
