Re: 1985 Spree conversion to kick start
I saw this and tries to do it but when I put the cover back on the kickstart lever doesn't move at all. When I compared the pics to mine it looks like that half circle gear is down more than yours. How do you move it without taking a finger or two off.

Re: spree battery block nut
This happened to me as well when i was swapping the battery from the elite to my spree and i wend down to fleet farm and bought a small bolt and nut set, the nut was slightly larger and would not fit in there without a little "help". I just grabbed a screwdriver and because the terminals a...

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
I took the exhaust off and found out that there was no washer in it off the header where it was on my elite, is that where it is supposed to be or do i need to cut the pipe to get to it?

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Thanks Pat. I picked up the tank and put it on. there is fuel in the tank and its clean but I cant seem to get the petcock on the tank to let fuel through. Should I just hook both the fuel line and the vacuum line to the carb and try starting it. The only reason I'm asking is because I don't have an...

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Don't worry, just a temp thing for testing, riding my elite daily anyways, until i finish this project up. I have a line on a tank off a guy on CL. But I will have some time tomorrow to take the carb off and clean it up. I will keep posted on the details if that was the problem or not.

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Odometer reads 5300, haven't had any time to monkey around with it, I adjusted the carb to the spec 1 7/8 turns out, took it for a ride around the block and when I was slowing down for the stop sign she just died on me. Tried to started it a few times and it finally kicked over. Would that have anyt...

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Thanks for the tips, I worked on it for little while today and was able to get it off without any harm. Took it out for a ride around the block and it was fine, slow but fine, until I tired to go up the small hill to my house and it would not move for the life of me, I got off and held it up full th...

Re: Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Ok so I put the cover on and now all that happens is the relay clicking on and off. And the shaft doesn't pop out of the cover, I'm so lost here.

Spree, Starter problem and running issue.
Ok so today I picked up an 85 spree that was non running and in pieces. I got it home and put it on my bench to get her going. Plug looked good, drained the oil and put new stuff in. Not sure if this spree was set up to put mixed gas in the oil tank, because there is no fuel tank. But being unsure i...
