Riding along...then just dieing...
So, update...i got a working petcock valve and a professional to help me with idle speed. I rode it (my 1985 honda spree) home from the shop. Several hours later I was riding to work. About 5 miles in, after it working perfectly, I suddenly lost all power and it died. It would crank, turn, but not s...

Re: Wont Idle
The oil was because it was leaking oil from the elbow. I fixed that. It's quite possible I put the spacer on wrong See, the bike worked ok before I took apart carb. As for the testing of the bystarter, I am ill-equipped for that lol

Re: Wont Idle
Sorry. 1985 Honda Spree. I read the manual and unfortunatly, I did not record the number of turns on the screws. I messed around with the settings for about half an hour and it just would not idle. I also read that I should start with the idle in most of the way and then adjusting the mixture. I'm t...

Wont Idle
Ok, I took off the carb today and cleaned it. When I reinstalled it I made sure the throttle notch was above the throttle stop screw but unfortunately it will not idle AT ALL. In order to get it running, I have to give it a little gas and keep on the gas to keep it running. This will not work very w...

Re: Fuel filter is stuck
One more odd thing, I noticed my oil reservoir has this round, plug-like black rubber thing in it free floating. Is that normal?

Re: Fuel filter is stuck
Sounds like a plan. Since I couldnt get the fuel filter in there I put the O ring in so it wouldnt leak but i still have a sneaking suspicion. Guess I'll see when I ride it today! First day back on the road since the petcock incident and its a gorgeous day here in Seattle!

Re: Fuel filter is stuck
Its totally ok if it's trashed. In all honesty, I broke one of the valves off into the fuel line when I was taking off the petcock so I had to order a new one and it came with a new filter. BTW it is now running still with the old filter but I would like to replace it anyways. I also think...
