OK, good info. according to our Altima, i'm averaging about 43mph. but i shall check with a GPS. i'm pretty happy with the results though. thanks to a lot of help from this forum. bought this thing for $160 with carb/airbox missing, and a few other problems. got it all tuned up and serviced now, and...

OK, update. i put on the new Polini belt and removed the cover and grease from the vari............according to our altima speedo, it runs between 43 and 45 mph. huge improvement over stock.

Sorry, you are right. it is 65cm (650mm)
but the width is bout 15mm (measured with a stainless scale)

OK, just got new Polini belt. it measures:
65mm outer curcumference
15mm wide

i do know that my existing belt on my NB50 is at the service minimum width of 14mm

hopefully this new belt will help some.

great info, i'll try it for sure. can you tell me what a safe temp would be at the plug base after a WOT run ? i have an ifrared temp gun. would like to check it to make sure its in a safe range.

OK good. so, my belt is within manual specs, but just barely. its a bit narrow i think, maybe i could run a little faster with a new one. also, can i gain speed by running my rollers dry, instead of greased???

do you run a stock variator or a ruckus unit ??

OK, what i did was drill out the faulty stock petcock, install inline filter, and shutoff valve. test run.........scoot runs good.

oh yea, its a stock motor with a few thousand miles on it. thats a pretty good speed right?

thanks to all for the help and responses to all my questions......got the NB50 running today finally. first time since i bought it. speedometer reads 35mph wide open on a level street.

yea, i think the float & needle are working correctly.
do you guys keep stock petcock or put on a manual one?
