Re: Spree transmission bearing

The parts fiche lists the generic number for that bearing as a 6202 --> 15x35x11

Here's a link for a Nachi version -- https://www.vxb.com/6202-Nachi-Bearing- ... gKPc_D_BwE

Re: 86 Spree - CURSED wiring/ no start

In the meantime can you explain to me what +Vbatt switched is?
Should have put that in parenthesis as 'black wire (+Vbatt switched)'. It's a habit of differentiating
unswitched power (VBatt) from the switched side - in this case after the ignition switch.

Re: 86 Spree - CURSED wiring/ no start

...I popped the taillight bulb back in, and when I did I lost all power again. -Took it back out, and the oil light and horn were operational. -Also noticed that when I switched the turn signals on, it caused all the lights to go off/ lose power as well. Those symptoms point to a high resistance is...

Commutator Cleaning Use something which fills the slot and will be kind to the copper to rake out the debris. In the photo is a piece of plastic blister packaging. Commutator_cleaning.JPG Polish the commutator Give the brushes a fresh smooth, clean surface by polishing the commutator. I used 320/40...

Re: Honda Gyro Starters

Odds and Ends When replacing the ball bearing, consider using the sealed variant of the 698 size ball bearing. 698RS has a lip seal built in. That option would be good if building a starter that has no provision the OEM separate oil seal. Sealed_698RS.JPG The full starter rebuild kit shown earlier ...

What works for me is to retract the brushes, then clamp the wires to the fins of the brush holder.

Re: 1985 NQ50 fuel level gauge wire

85 and 84 Sprees used a 2 wire fuel sensor.

When a 3 wire fuel sensor is used in 84-85 Sprees, the readings will be low as you describe.

Re: No spark after cleaning fuel system but it was fine before

I've checked all the wiring and bypassed the kill switching by removing the kill switch and just twisting the wires back together since the kill switch was faulty. Any ideas?? Removing the kill switch and twisting the mating wires (Black/White to Ground wires) together creates a no start issue in i...

Re: Non-modified Spree Top Speed

On the practical side - assuming your Spree has normal wear, the A or B cyl and piston match likely is no longer important. The piston will have worn, and any lower mile cylinder also has wear. Again the part size difference was not large. You would likely get the closest fit by sourcing an oversize...

Re: Non-modified Spree Top Speed

What the manual is saying is to look at the crankcase mating surface of the *cylinder* and note if there is an "A" or "B" mark on it. What I found is that "A" and "B" cylinders have slightly different bores and were mated to slightly different piston diameters at time of original assembly. I think i...

Re: Tachometer Questions

I used a square wave generator input to it and with DC positive and negative at the appropriate leads, got it to operate. It delivers 0-10 VDC from the PCB to the meter which then reads full scale. There could be a schematic error, but I see the cap on the T2295A meter drive output (C4) is listed a...

I think the size 5.30/4.50-6 used to fit under the fenders. But have no experience with current tires.

Edit - ignore the following old tire pics with same tire size. Geez - 10 years ago photos :)

Re: Honda Gyro Starters

How do people usually go about adapting the stock TG50 harness to the Aero 50/early SA50 starter? Your pigtail idea is good, especially since you have a TG50 starter mount plate that you may fix. Y I can't say I'd recommend doing it - but I once filed the SA50 starter tab until it just fit into the...

Re: What is this SA50/SB50 front book rack?

As it turns out, I don't have an Aero 80, so I really don't have a use for the rack.. I also gave away all of my SB50s so I can't use it there. I have two SA50s that it would fit on, but I already have homemade racks with baskets on them, and this Aero80 rack doesn't lend itself to basketization an...
