Re: Gotta love Carbs!

Just an update, it's up and running back on the road! It was a double whammy of the o-ring on the drain bowl screw and the float was sticking. As for the float sticking that's all in my error. I was too afraid to tighten the screw down that holds the pin and that was the cause of one problem. The I ...

Re: Gotta love Carbs!

Question. If I have the drain screw in all the way will it have any effect on how it runs? If not then I need to rethink my approach to trying to figure out why it's not starting. My luck though it will just keep leading on to more issues. At least I'm getting to learn in the process, and to be hone...

Re: Gotta love Carbs!

Does the little thing in my fingers go in the hole where I have it pointing? That's right under the float and that's where I had it before. The float is notched for it to go in it. At least it looks like it.

Re: Gotta love Carbs!

I'm heading home now to take it apart and stuff. Now just to make sure I'm right, the float is the round donut thing right? Or is it the little missle shaped thing?

Re: Gotta love Carbs!

The pink tub on the left is leaking gas. Is it a possibility that I've hooked the gas hose and oil hose in the wrong spots?

Re: Gotta love Carbs!

I went to the local honda shop, the numbers match to the old one. I'll post pictures in a second. It's a 1999 honda elite SR sa50p. It's running better with the carb on there it's just peeing everywhere. It's kinda like a Volkswagen, leaks oil to mark it's turf. Only in this case it's gas. Edit* it'...

Re: S.O.S please help

It's good to get to the source of the problem so you can have a reliable running scooter. But since its your only way of getting around, try keeping the throttle revved. Since it works at WOT just make sure there's always some throttle play. When you're stopped at a light or stop sign just rev the ...

Re: S.O.S please help

Spark plug is fine, went ahead and put a new one in. Air filter is fine, I even tried running without it. ( didn't ride just tried to let it idle.I don't have the tool for a compression test. Unfortunatly I'm out of time to do anything else with it today, so ill pull the carb off and check the pilot...

S.O.S please help

My very reliable scooter (1999 honda elite SR sa50P) is sick. Gotta hold the throttle wide open just to keep her running, and after a few minutes she just dies. Right now she is my only way back and forth. I can't figure out what the problem is, flushed the carb and everything. She's putting out whi...
