I started by first cutting off the end thinking I could clean it out that way ! Don't do it - it was a dead end . Next I cut out a large sectio...

Anyone cut open a Gyro s Muffler ?

I'm just trying to finish a 86- Gyro s - 4000. mi restore . The last thing is a pluged muffler . First Q: Are Gyro mufflers real heavy ? I've already tried tapping with a hammer - to useing an air chisel w/ blunt end against a piece of 3/8" flat stock . That neted a small nut can of carbon chun...

Re: Fuel not running to carb

Another thing you might want to check is . Right now I have 2- scooters ( 1970 z50 mini-trail & 86 Gyro s) with fuel caps that will not vent . Both would run fine and then just stop like they ran out gas ! Thats because they were . I checked them by opening the fuel valve and letting the gas go ...

No new parts from Honda to repair it . He also went on to say in the day they sold more Spree's than any other dealer...

Re: 1985 Spree... Timing issue?

The Spree is at the dealer right now . After talking to the service manager I'm wondering if they can fix it ? Service Mgr. " Well its an 85 - Honda doesn't make parts for it any more " ! So if it ends up being a stator it doesn't sound like they will repair with aftermarket parts or used ...

Re: 1985 Spree... Timing issue?

So - I replaced the CDI and coil and had no luck . What next the stator ? The new CDI has a LED that should light every time it fires . No light but still has a weak spark . Has anyone else ever had to replace a stator ?

Re: 1985 Spree... Timing issue?

Superbee : Thats good news because I went ahead and ordered one from the same place as you . It just came in the mail today . Bad news is my Spree is 50 mi. away and I'm not going back till later next week. If the new CDI and coil fixes mine they will have to do a new chapter in Wikspreedia !
