Re: '83 Aero 50 - Wants to run? Ideas, help?

Good work so far... my experience is three things. 1) Fuel 2) Spark 3) Compression Is there fuel in the carb bowl... easy enough to check - crack your fuel drain screw and see. Sometimes the petcock can fail. Spark... many times the plug can foul. They are cheap enough. You can pull the plug and gro...

Re: 87 Spree Air Tube Question

I would guess that the air boot and box are interchangeable - among Sprees. They are assuming you are missing the air box. What are you missing? They are suggesting stuffing in a plastic Pepsi (16 OZ / 20 OZ) bottle in the boot (if you have the boot) and installation an air filter inside the bottle ...

Re: Spree oil pump disabling

It is my experience when pumps fail.... they flow oil when not running. Pretty easy to spot as the scoot will smoke like cheech and chong when they fire up.

Re: Spree oil pump disabling

Okay... not sure why - are you running a non stock setup? The pump is cheaper than work around you will come up with.

Best of luck.

MopedMark

Member here.... I had an '86 spree pump go bad. He shipped me two for $20. I have bought stuff from him before. Service is quick and prices are more than reasonable. Just PM him, and you can get a pump for cheap.

Mark is the best for sure...

Re: I Just Cleaned the Carb now it won't run !!!

Download the service manual... read it in regards to the carb. Review wikispreedia on carb cleaning. I like to change lines to clear ones... allows you so see what is going on. You have the original vacuum line... it could be bad. Turn / open the drain screw on the carb to see if you are getting fue...

Typical motor oil...

Clean the filter all the way.... once clean - soak it in 10W-30 and wring to till you can't get any more oil out of it.

Re: 1994 honda elite SA50P Bogging down when throttle applie

You are running lean... no bueno. By-stater can fail closed... but it would be hard to start if this was the case. Non-stock air filter would require bigger main jet to fix the lean condition you are suffering from... but you will need more oil too. The 'P' is not adjusting the oil feed... it based ...

Re: 1994 honda elite SA50P Bogging down when throttle applie

By-starter can fail... and it can fail in the open position (enriching position). When the by-starter works correctly it closes the enrichment circuit while the engine is running.

Re: 1994 honda elite SA50P Bogging down when throttle applie

These honda 2 strokes are tuned... and no air filter / non-stock air filter would cause the problems you are having (super lean). When you took the carb off you should have had to remove the air-box boot on the right side of your carb. I forget to add a larger jet ($5) as part of the district.... I ...

Re: 1994 honda elite SA50P Bogging down when throttle applie

Tell us that you have stock / unmodified air filter box on it with a new filter that has been lubed. If it is not and your carb is indeed clean... it is possible that your bystarter is not closing properly (broken - open) and is flooding your bike. I would also get a compression reading... it helps ...

Re: I Just Cleaned the Carb now it won't run !!!

I know a guy who didn't put the throttle cable slide / needle back in the top of the carb incorrectly (me). The long groove on the throttle body / needle assembly fits over a small tab toward the inside of the bike. If you had done this incorrectly, you will have little to no play on the twist throt...
