Re: Spree Engine Swap: Honda Elite CH80 onto Spree
The same CDI on my AF16 added better mid-range torque as well and a couple mph on my top end.

Re: Spree Engine Swap: Honda Elite CH80 onto Spree
That CDI does have a rev limit. The "no rev limit" to which they are referring is that it is increased from the stock Honda rev limit. That CDI was originally meant for Honda scoots that were limited from the factory. It's supposed to be used in conjunction with other means to derestrict H...

Re: Spree Engine Swap: Honda Elite CH80 onto Spree
The CDI and coil pic posted are exactly what I swapped in. With a 100 main jet and Polini foam air filter my mid range and top end were less temperamental and overall power increased

Re: Spree Engine Swap: Honda Elite CH80 onto Spree
With some tuning you can get decent performance out of a CH80. My daily commuter CH80 responded really well to rollers, intake and jetting. Had the same problem finding an aftermarket exhaust so still have the stock pipe and header. I know its frowned upon in these circles but a simple blue CDI real...

Re: Scooterswapshop aero/Zuma swap
Agreed graphite. Once I went 2T, particularly big bore 2T no turning back. My BBK 2T is as reliable and starts every time just like my daily driver CH80 4T.

Re: Custom parts for the elite/spree bunch..suggestions.
How about a Ruckus-style gas tank so we can get it off the frame behind the seat and run a low-profile seat similar to a Ruck's. Skelly SA50's would be so much sexier and riding position wouldn't be so high.

May be your first go around but you'll be okay if you continue asking questions, researching your bike and maintaining organization. Excellent work so far.

Re: HID to LED
I've been wanting to upgrade my SA50 and CH80 headlights. I wouldn't mind checking these out.

Re: 28mm OKO dumping fuel from overflow- Ideas?
Time for closure- rebuilt and recleaned the OKO and its sterling again. I ended up grabbing the Polini carb as well and decided I'm gonna keep that one on the bike with a new black intake.
Soon to come- 28mm OKO carb and chrome CT intake for sale

Re: 28mm OKO dumping fuel from overflow- Ideas?
When I pull the carb off again after the weekend, I will delve deeper into the float valve itself. I'll give it a more serious cleaning and polish. The float frame is metal but I've definitely mangled it enough that its form is no longer true, or at least its bent to the point that my OCD is finishe...

28mm OKO dumping fuel from overflow- Ideas?
Hey all, Here's my deal, swapped an AF16 into my 89 SA50. Has a Polini Contessa BBK with said 28mm OKO carb on a chrome CT intake. Finally got my fuel delivery and spark issues solved. Motor will start and run, consistently but bogged down enough to where the clutch will not engage except for 1 luck...

Re: 89 Elite SA50, Can't get spark from spark plug
Turns out it is my alternator exciter coil/stator. Check all my resistances and they only resistances out of range relate to my stator. Double-checked my ignition coil and spark plug with my CH80 and they work perfectly. Got a second one lying around so will swap it out and hope for luck. If not, qu...

Re: 89 Elite SA50, Can't get spark from spark plug
Have had my head in this manual since the day before I picked this scoot up. Will start from the plug cap and work my way back again and check the switch's continuity as well. Was hoping the description of my problem would light a few light bulbs in someone's head.

89 Elite SA50, Can't get spark from spark plug
Asking for help. Picked up a Cosmic Blue SA50 for $75 with the only issue being that it is not running. Ignition coil was cut in half so ordered up the new part and new spark plugs. Scoot turns over and is receiving fuel. Checked with both new spark plugs and no spark. Connected my multimeter to che...
