Re: Honda Gyro questions
Muffler is built like a Spree, just fire up your gas grill and throw it in. It helps to stick your air nozzle into each end of the muffler and blow out the oil smoke every fifteen minutes.

Re: Gyro won't start
Try a squirt of oil into the plug hole before starting. My 84 Gyro needed a squirt to fire up, turned out to be cylinder out of round, had good compression after 15 engine rotations, but had very low compression on the first rotation. Oversize piston and cylinder boring fixed the no start problem. H...

Re: Aero 125 help
It was mentioned earlier in this post to use a 1982 CR125 piston in the Aero 125 engine, however the piston is not correct, the ring gaps are not in the correct location.
If anyone knows how to modify the piston to fit please post the information.

Re: AERO CDI makes my Spree super fast
An oscilloscope simply measures voltage and time, in order for it to record the timing map the actual crankshaft position and degrees would need a base line setting. I would imagine a crankshaft position sensor would need to be added to gather data. But then again, I am hoping someone will already k...

Re: AERO CDI makes my Spree super fast
The stator has a two sections that produce voltage, one section provides the primary voltage that powers up the coil primary winding, the pulse coil produces a pulse that provides the crankshaft position information to the CDI box. The CDI box takes the crankshaft location information and the rpm in...

Re: AERO CDI makes my Spree super fast
This isn't about my Spree being special or about an 87 spree going 32.
Obviously there is a different timing advance map inside the 84 Aero CDI.
Does anyone here know how to log the data of the ignition advance curve ?

Re: AERO CDI makes my Spree super fast
Lets not get confused here, this is not about other bikes, ports, reeds, belts, variators, Pipes, tire size, wind direction or rider weight. The same Spree with a Spree CDI is normal speed, the exact same Spree with an 84 Aero 50 CDI is significantly faster, no mods, no other changes. Normal speed w...

AERO CDI makes my Spree super fast
My three Spree's pull pretty good to 27, then slowly creep to thirty. Except my fourth Spree , it pulls strong to 33 then creeps to over 35. The difference ? The fourth Spree has a CDI box from a 1984 Aero 50 on it. When I put a stock Spree CDI box on it, it runs the same as all the other Spree's, I...

Spree questions
Under the seats of all my Sprees are plastic tabs, that probably held something at one time. Is this for a tool pouch or owners manual ?
Also, when Sprees were purchased new, did they come with one key or two ? When new, did they come with a spare spark plug ?

Re: Throttle stuck open?
When a two stoke engine leans out, they can sometimes rev high giving the impression that the slide/ cable is stuck. Luckily this is only 49 cc and not 500cc. Your description of no tension at the hand throttle however, sounds like the slide is sticking. Did you look at the carb inlet while twisting...

Re: Honda Spree- Stock Engine Swap- NO SPARK
Even though it is not your problem, the 85 engine into a 86 Spree just simply needs that green wire for the pulse coil grounded, no need to change the pickup coil. The alternator exciter coil must also work in addition to the pulse coil they are both needed as well as the cdi unit. The owners manual...
