Re: New to the forum, bought 86 aero50, any simple mph mods?
I can't figure out how to change the main jet. Is there a DIY anywhere? I read the service manual but it just has an exploded view. Surely I don't have to take the whole carb apart? I thought it would be easy judging from the lightbulb comment but I can't see how to do it. Glad I dug into it though ...

Re: Do I need a cable lock for my scooter?
I don't have a cable lock yet. I wonder if there is a way to use my "krypto lock", or whatever they are called now, form my bicycle?Dio89Elite wrote: How long is your cable lock?...

Do I need a cable lock for my scooter?
I live in a town that steals bicycles and scooters and hates cars. Do I need to use a cable look for grocery runs? What about at a movie theater where they know you won't be back for a couple hours? How do people steal them, do they break the steering lock and roll it off or just throw the whole thi...

Re: How to bring color back on faded plastic? Also seat?
Wow, those are some neat ideas. I've never heard of the heat gun technique before. Maybe I'll try a small inconspicuous spot. I'm very familiar with painting cars as I have painted many over the last 20 years or so but always want to pick up new techniques. I have a great video on how to do custom p...

Are 100/90J-10 tires to0 big for 86 aero50?
FOund these http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/5/32/404/5940/ITEM/Michelin-S83-Classic-Scooter-Tire.aspx but 90/90-10 is what a member recommended. Would these 100/90-10's work? I'm looking for best traction so I'm open to any recommendations. I think the danger around here is tiny gravel on wet p...

Re: How to make my black aero50 more visisble?
Good idea on the industrial supply. I went to this store http://www.sandersonsafety.com/store/index.cfm and they have green rubber raincoats for around $15, lined jackets for $30, and removable fleece-lined for $43. I ended up getting the removable liner one because it's more flexible. They are pret...

RIght on. I used pigs feet to fill the holes in the foam. : ) actually I cut the foam feet off an old pig stuffed animal and put them on there followed by duct tape. It seems pretty smooth and is better than a big hole that's for sure.

How to make my black aero50 more visisble?
I'm thinking you really can't be too visible and the tallest part that most cars would see are the rider. Does anyone know where to buy those cheap flourescent green construction jackets? Looking a for a full jacket that can go over a coat, not the vests. I tried a bicycle shop but they are like $10...

How to bring color back on faded plastic? Also seat?
Hello, I just got my 86 aero50 and am taking on the maintenance, minor pperformance upgrades, and cosmetic restoration all at once. I tried using rubbing compound on the oxidized red plastic on the front inside (where the key goes etc.) and no luck. I'm thinking that the best think to do is repaint ...

Re: New to the forum, bought 86 aero50, any simple mph mods?
Sweet! I'm going to call HOnda dealer today. Also, I noticed in a search that one member found stock Honda tires for like $15 so maybe I'll see what tires cost from the dealer. I'm so used to being anti-dealer with my VW car that I need to switch gears in my brain and start talking to dealers for pa...

Re: New to the forum, bought 86 aero50, any simple mph mods?
WOw, some awesome info. here and just what I'm looking for thanks! When you say "burn the pipe" does that mean clean the carbon out of the exhaust pipe/muffler? 40mph would be awesome. Where do i buy that 85 jet? Is there a DIY description of how to replace it in the library? I found two 9...

New to the forum, bought 86 aero50, any simple mph mods?
Just bought a 86 aero 50 that has lots of power off the line but top speed is 34 mph. I am not a heavy guy so weight is not the issue. Are there any restrictions I can remove or other simple improvements/mods I can do to increase top end speed? even 3-5 mph more would be a huge improvement as far as...
