Re: Honda ELITE E - idle problem?
I think you are running rich after warmup. Is your choke working properly? Check your spark plug once it shuts off. See if it’s wet.

Re: '86 Spree - No power
Sounds like a lose wire to the battery. What do you mean it runs without power? It doesn’t need the battery to stay running.

Re: 1988 Elite SA50 carburetor
Sounds like the initial problem was the float and needle, causing it not to shut and letting too much gas in . It probably wasn’t set right or had debris by the needle , causing gas to flow out of the overflow tube and into the air box. The high rpm now sounds like a lean condition, vacuum line or g...

Re: Honda Aero 80 drop in top speed
Sorry about the late response...the belt was out of spec. There was some slight build up of rust on the back clutch which caused the belt to wear out prematurely. I cleaned it up and installed a new belt. Last one I had left, and it was back up to speed again. Does anyone know where to get replaceme...

Re: Honda Aero Will not start!
You have to too much fluid, gas,oil , in the case and you are flooding it. Disconnect your fuel line from the carb. Keep you spark plug out and crank it to get it all out. If you keep cranking with the fuel line connected, you will keep adding fuel and it will never start! Once you crank it and don'...

You are right, that's why I indicated North America in my sentence. Odds are it wouldn't have been brought over from one of the countries you indicated but you never know.

Re: 1991 Honda NH80
That is a tall order!! I agree that would be insane on a machine that has not been gone over and serviced. Are you sure it is a 1991 nh80? They stopped production of the nh80 in North America in 1985. Something doesn't seem to be right with the year.

Re: SO frustrated!!
Are you sure the belt is still in spec? If it lost a few mm it will make you lose top end. Take the belt cover off and make sure everything is working properly as it should. Also is the engine performing well? Are you getting bogging or sputtering? Are there any symptoms besides top end loss? If not...

Re: Starting probs with an Elite 80.(fuel starve)
If you disconnect the fuel line from the carb no fuel should come out but a little it should not continue to flow. It should only flow when vacuum is applied. If you were cranking it over and over you may have flooded the motor. Pull the plug and see if wet.

Re: SO frustrated!!
You have a worn belt and rollers. Change them you will see a difference. Also, you need to run with an air filter and gaskets. Without them you will run lean and ruin the engine eventually.

Re: Honda Aero 80 drop in top speed
Well I did the manual valve bypass today only that Bear sketched only to find out that it runs the same with the manual bypass. Don't know what is causing this drop in speed. Could it be the main jet is clogged? The scooter runs flawlessly up to 36 mph but it will bog down if I twist the throttle fo...

I can keep it wot all the way to 36 without an issue. It is at that speed where the problems start occurring.

Re: Honda Aero 80 drop in top speed
Would a bad bystarter give off the symptoms I am having. I have absolutely no sputtering and the motor pulls strong up to 36 mph at that point I can't keep the throttle wide open I have to bake off quite a bit. I feel like it wants to go faster but something is holding it back, it won't move off tha...
