Side stand ?
OK so maybe it is a stupid question, but I hate having to use the center stand at every stop on my elite. Us there a clean looking way to put a kickstand on my 2001 Elite?

OOOPs sorry I read back and realized that you were working on an unrestricted bike.
I finally decided to spend the money on a Technigas pipe. Haven't tested it yet but hoping for a good result!

Re: 1987 elite SE50P de-restrict
Take a look at my "Bang for the Buck" thread. I show a pic of the pipe and how I opened it up. A step bit is by far the best method that I found. Made it an easy job.

Re: Stock Oil Pump Delivery Ratio
So it sounds like the "sweet spot" is 300 to 350 but no reason to freak out if I see 375 or bit more for a short time. And someone said below 300 is too rich but another post said 275 is OK. SOOOOO My pipe will be here this week but I am going back on the road until Thanksgiving. So soon a...

Re: Best Bang for the Buck, the mods begin
Thanks Carl I decided to wire the oil pump about 2/3 of the way open and run 2 ounces of premix per gallon. I then measured how much it took to refill the oil tank after 2 tanks. If my measurements are correct I am running about 32:1 I'll check it better as I put more miles on the bike. I think that...

Re: Installing Head Temp Gauge ?
As stated by others...180-315 degrees seems to be about right. I tested 49 and 70cc engines and the top of the head was about 300F after idling for 13 minutes. I found these two quotes on another site. I'm assuming 320 degrees is a safe max. I also read that 400 degrees is possible on properly tune...

Re: Installing Head Temp Gauge ?
EXCELLENT info thanks guys. I think I'll do a temporary install to get the jetting right when my exhaust gets here. I'm hoping it will get here today. THREE questions I should have asked : The important one : What is the peak temperature that is acceptable? What is the normal temp for cruising at a ...

Installing Head Temp Gauge ?
I bought the TTO Digital Temperature Gauge Made by Trail Tech. Ordered it from one of the suppliers on this site. The instructions say that to install the sensor you have to remove the crush washer from the spark plug and replace that with the sensor and reinstall the spark plug. I don't think the s...

Which exhaust?
I posted the current mods to my bike under the "Bang for the Buck" title. De-regged 2001. Stock except air box mod, and larger main jet. Very impressed with the lil scoot so far. I've been on the road working for 2 months and now I will have some money and some time. NOW which exhaust woul...
