Trying to remove wheel bearings...
I apologize as this is for the Honda Motocompo, kinda similar to the spree (in the sense that is a 50cc 2 stroke vintage honda scooter)...I've got no where else to ask the question lol. I'm trying to remove the wheel bearing from the front wheel...but i put it in a press and it will not come out bef...

Re: Changing final drive on non-variated honda

Re: Changing final drive on non-variated honda
Looking for some more help on the matter. I've been ripping the motocompo and though down low its lacking in power, its got lots to easily hit 50km/h...just needs gear better. I'd like if someone could help with tire suggestions of a 8" tire available in USA/Canada. I can't find anything. A lar...

Re: Squeaking noise from crankcase area normal?
Thanks for the info.
The squeal is at idle and when you rev it, but not necessarily when you are moving.
Would the belt still squeal if the wheels are not turning?
The motocompo has the near identical motor to the Honda express sold in USA from what I've been told

Re: Changing final drive on non-variated honda
Thanks. It feels as if it has could have higher speed if I geared it better...
BBK (big bore kit) would make obvious use of the extra power and allow it to go faster as well.
I'll check out chopchop123 on ebay.

Changing final drive on non-variated honda
I'm really new to scooters. With machines like the spree, how does one go about changing the final drive if there is no variator?
Does anyone make different gear sets? Can you change front or rear sprocket size like on a motorcycle?
Thanks!

Squeaking noise from crankcase area normal?
Ok, its not a Honda Spree, but similar. 1981 Honda Motocompo. Low mileage unit. Non-variator, single speed 50cc 2 stroke. I've go no-where else to ask :) I just got the bike, and at idle after its warm, it makes a squeaking/squealing noise from the crankcase area. I'm not sure if this is something t...

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
Cool. Its hard to find any info on the Squash. What is the engine code on it? Did it have a CVT or just direct drive? I know 40mp/h would be sketchy, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm not saying I would do 40mp/h all day long, but I'd like it to do 35mp/h so I can at least use it in regular traffic....

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
It would be hard to do a swap since the mounts are for a vert engine and not a horizontal. I guess you could do a ruck engine swap, but why. Id just port the intake tract, intake, reed block, up jet and be done with it. The Ruckus will still be a VERY tight fit. The problem with the stock motor is ...

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
Thanks guys. I've found a Honda Jazz/Metropolitan motor for cheap that I'm going to give a go with.
The Jazz (in Canada, Metropolitan in USA) has a shorter swingarm than the Ruckus...so it might be easier to keep the small dimensions of the Motocompo.
I've got lots of planning ahead of me!

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
Thanks. I saw the Gyro swap as well. Very cool for sure...only Its not so compact anymore after that upgrade. I was hoping to keep the tiny dimensions of the stock motocompo with what ever swap I do.
Can anyone from the photo tell if this is the same motor as the Spree?

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
Thanks guys. The motocompo is rare in North America for sure...but in Japan they are dime a dozen. They made over 30,000 of these little guys. I'm all about OEM, but I also like to drive the stuff I own. Its usually small diplacment toys, like my Honda 1991 Honda CT70...it was almost fast enough...b...

Re: Honda Motocompo and Spree similarities plus engine upgra
Just did some quick googling...it appears the motocompo runs the AB12E...is this is the same as the spree? I thought the spree ran a vertical motor...but the Motocompo runs a horizontal from what I can tell...?
Thanks for schooling me
