Re: Not getting all the way on pipe
I have almost identical setup now, just installed Corsa jug, Malossi crank, Arrow pipe and running OKO 24mm carb. I had trouble getting on the pipe with 125 main. Tried 135 and it was just as bad. Dropped in a 110 and it came to life. Neighbors not happy I'm running without a muffler but this this i...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
It's that time of year again.... Going back to Bonneville in a couple weeks. SpeedWeek was last week but heading to World Of Speed again in mid Sept. I tore down the scooter a few weeks ago and cleaned everything out. No major isues but I saw the turbo mount had cracked. I made a new mount this week...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
The celebration was great in that we got my dad at 81 years old a motorcycle land speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm17/chwdhw/Sidecar%20Scooter/IMG_1180.jpg Now it was time to put his wife of the bike... We changed classes by going to a spec fuel class a...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
We were fortunate the short course had almost zero line all week. The longest wait we had was four vehicles. Awesome! The plan was that I would make a few passes to make sure everything was running right, then hand the reins over to my Dad for him to make some passes and hopefully set a record. The ...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
It's been too long since I have been on here and I realize I never posted after going to Bonneville. What a great week! After a 22 hour drive from Dallas to Bonneville, my wife and I met up with my father and mother in law who would spend the next several days with me on the salt. We set up our pit ...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
I haven't forgotten about you guys. I'm leaving on Thursday to head to Bonneville for the World Of Speed.
I have the turbo system up and running great. No guesses what it will do on the salt at altitude but we will find out on Saturday! Pics to follow...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
Also - thanks Graphite! the Polini pipe works great. I tweaked the curved outlet pipe to run out the back of my rear fairing and wrapped with heat tape. Works great!

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
Had a great weekend - though short. Left home Thursday night, drove all night then arrived at the track in Ohio Friday morning. Unloaded, went through tech and got in line. First pass - no body work on and 100 main jet - 46.3mph Second pass - all body work on, 102 main jet - 52.6 mph Third pass - al...

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
Wheel - I believe you are right. I just need to get enough midrange power to get up on the pipe so I can then go full throttle

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
As a note, the numbers I am dealing with right now are without the turbo attached. I want to get this pipe tuning sorted before putting on the turbo with it. I can run it either with or without and it only takes about 15 minutes to swap.

Re: Sidecar Bonneville Land Speed Elite 50 build
I set the turbo up as a draw through system. I didn't want to deal with pressurizing the carb and figuring out one more thing. It runs only about 2 psi boost right now getting it figured out.
