Anybody around Auburn, Alabama

Or Alabama in general? I would love to get my Elite 50's back to top notch shape and add some performance mods.

Re: A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

From what I can tell, the by starter has an electrical plug? Where does it even plug into? I can't find any evidence of one other than the dirty hole that is on the carb where it is supposed to be. Does either scoot have an advantage over the other in the power train if I was to want to build one up...

What carb for 88 Elite 50?

Apparently thought moving a lost a few parts of the stock carb. The motor is stock. Is there any non-stock carb/filter that I should look at getting or show I just find a stock replacement carb?

Re: A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

Disconnect the cable from the lever at the hub and assess what component is sticking. I suppose cables can corrode and lock up, but with these things it's usually the cam that the lever pulls sticking really hard at the hub. If so, take the hub apart, ream-and-sand the brake actuator lever and reas...

Re: A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

Greetings: Your Honda dealer is either ignorant or willfully misleading you to jack up his profit. If you remove the lock switch, there's a code number on the back. Any GOOD Honda dealer knows he just has to punch those numbers into his Honda key-cutter and a new key for your lockset will emerge. D...

Re: A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

Now to the issues. Mainly, I want to focus on getting Scooter #1 back going. I just ordered 2 90/90/10 Pirelli SL 26 tires and 2 tubes for it due to the original tires being dry rotted. My main problems are these though. It originally started giving me trouble out of the carb. Now, at some point, I ...

Re: A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

So I started having problems with Scooter #1. I will get to those in a moment. I picked this up off a friend of mine to get me around until mine was back going. Scooter #2. 1987 Honda Elite 50 http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n477/brockhigdon/FC72FAEB-A1E4-4CB0-A7BA-78917A9C3D0F_zpsiopyrau8.jpg

A tale of 2 Scooters (some help needed!)

Man. Where to begin. Scooter #1. 1988 Honda Elite 50. My aunt bought this in the early 90s and they never used it too much.  I remember riding it as a kid.  Was up visiting family the other day and remembered it.  My wife has always joked about her having a scooter so I thought what the heck!  W...
